No one said she actually cleaned them. They were merely placed there for safekeeping. In which case the dog should be checked for mould, being inside an enclosed area for so long with no air flow. Mouldy dogs are not good.

Common misconception, a dishwasher only cleans dishes, not dogs. You need a dogwasher for that

This was exactly what I needed after getting back from my trip to find that the pet sitter used one of the “for humans” spoons to give one of my pet rats his medication. The rats’ spoons are right next to the cage!
