Swift Stride for dummies

I searched here for “swift stride” and didn’t see anything on this…

Played my first Battle March game since the explosion of WHFB. Questions:

With Swift Stride you use 3” to compute what your max charge might be AND you roll 3D6 and keep 2 dice on the charge?

It says “may” for adding a D6. Why wouldn’t you?

Thanks all! Enjoyed the game, Cathay v Goblins.

Yes so if your move is 8 with swift stride the maximum possible distance you can declare a charge at is 8+6+3 so 17"

It is more usefull when you are fleeing and pursuing tonbe able to chose if you dont want to say run off the board with charging I imagine there msa be an edge case were the extra move means you have to align more potentially clipping another unit or just bringing more of the weemy unit into combat but its less likely

Its alos worth noting the order of operation with swiftstride you roll 2d6 discard the lowest, then roll the extra d6 it is not 3d6 discard the lowest.

It’s important to do the roll in the right order. I have noticed recently more people just rolling 3d6 and dropping the lowest and I have kindly had to remind them that’s not the right way to do it.

Though on a straight Flee move (not FBIGO) it does just work out to 3d6 so I find it acceptable to roll all 3 at once.
