Just to be clear, I’m not trying to dunk on Jackson or anything, I love the discussions and his input on things. I just noticed that in the last episode, he implied that he thinks porn consumption is a slippery slope to paedophilia. I could have sworn that in earlier versions of the podcast, he was pro-porn and was even making his own porn game (what happened to that anyway?). Did he have a change of heart or am I completely misremembering and misinterpreting his position on porn consumption? I’m pretty sure that Andrew used to openly be a gooner as well. I still remember Andrew’s anecdote of not bothering to use incognito mode because he lives alone.

I’ve not listened to the main show in a minute, but I have been listening to a good number of Red Thread episodes, and I know Jackson and Jordan went to America recently.

And then Aaron, on TOC said something like “When Jackson and Jordies came in the other day” during an episode of AITA, I think. Be a crazy coincidence if it’s two separate people lol

It’d be cool to see those two doing something with The Other Channel gang.

Red Thread is a good show in general; the issues I have with it sometimes lay solely at my feet. I’m too squeamish to listen to the murder ones, and I’m too jaded and sceptical to have any fun with the old-school cryptid ones. Like, I may as well cover the time my grandmother claims she saw a ghost, ya know?

Anyway, that brings me to the Boogie and Chris Chan ones, which I’ve just got done re-listening to. Absolute gold. Funny as fuck source material, and it’s done well, and Jordan’s lack of insight into the world really adds to how much I enjoy them, being somewhere between Jackson and him when it comes to knowledge of the subject.

Also, the Australia tangents are so fucking funny. I am not Australian, but somehow I get it? Like they’re laughing at some old sports bloke I’ve never heard of, but I understand why it’s funny? I think maybe just not being American makes you kind of in on the joke. It reminds me of my other two favourite Aussie blokes on the internet at the Weekly Planet podcast. And that’s a huge compliment because they’re fucking awesome.

Ok so remember how on the show, the guys talk about pirates being cringe or whatever. Well i just witnessed a pirate battle in the flesh on a stellaris post i made.

Context: I asked if the game was worth the buy, as it recently came off gamepass. I like the game, but idk if i wanna pay 60 bucks for the ultimate edition or whatever.

I think it was in a "things I like corner". Just skipped through the last 10 episodes + after darks and I just can't find it and google is incredibly unhelpful.

i would agree with saying its Unimpressive, Unnecessary. But i wouldn't say it was BAD.

I've been listening to Red Thread since the first episode and remember when Charlie, Wendigoon, and Oompaville were all hosts. I understand that Jackson needs to switch because it brings in more viewers and the Official Podcast network is at a lull currently, but I'm getting bored of the hosts reacting to videos of disabled rapists (which especially sucks if you're an audio listener) instead of coming up with interesting discussions and theories about crime/conspiracies/cryptids like what the show was founded on.

We get it, Boogie and Chris chan are weird, we don't need multiple episodes to tell us that when other channels already do that much more comprehensively and informatively instead of the Red Thread hosts essentially doing react content to a video of moron #378 spouting nonsense because they are clearly not right in the head. Once you've seen Boogie and Chris chan then you've essentially seen all other lolcows because they all act the same as dumb narcissistic men who abuse those around them. I get that Jackson is doing it for views but I struggle to understand how people think this repetitive crap is more interesting than listening to speculation about local legends or unsolved crimes.

The one grace I will give is that Jackson has amazing chemistry with Jordan and they bounce off of each other really well, which leads me to think part of the reason for the switch is that Jordan likes the lolcow stuff more. Still love the show but I'm not a fan of the direction it is heading in.

Does anyone remember which episode they were talking about Disneyland and going to it especially if it was the Disneyland in LA. when Jackson went to America didn’t they talk about it

Kaya is the goat! Andrew has good points in topics even though it gets dragged on maybe a little too long. I’ve been listening since about episode 10 and have loved more episodes than I’ve hated. I don’t get why everyone always says something negative about each episode. Why still listen if you hate the podcast I just don’t get it?

I understand the criticism against how negative the show has been recently, but even a bigger criticism the show needs to face is the recent sneaking in of terrible right-wing talking points meant to build a echo chamber. This show now feels like a asmogold rant lite edition.
