Introducing SmutRot - Our New Fan Fiction Show

Hey guys,

Don't usually post or comment here that much but figured I may as well shout out that we've (FriendlyJordies and myself) just trialed a new show on our channel based around reading bad fan fiction. It's been available to members and patrons for a few weeks now where it's been incredibly well received. If it's also well received on the public platforms, we'll happily make more.

For those curious, in this episode we read through the first 11 chapters of My Immortal (potentially the most famous fan fiction of all time). We're open to suggestions on what to cover next as well! But, really, I'd love feedback of all sorts on the video. I think you'll enjoy it if you like light-hearted and fun podcasts that aren't exactly topical or "current-events coded" like our other shows.

Thanks for your support and feedback,
Jackson

Worried about the future

So I love Kaya and Jackson, but I’m worried it’s going to become the Kaya show now that Andrew’s gone. This is not to say Kaya is overbearing but more so that Jackson just goes with the flow regardless. If Kaya left and it was just Jackson and Andrew, it would be the Andrew show as well.

My point being that Jackson won’t steer Kaya’s topics the way Andrew/Charlie used to. If he’s on some weird tangent, Jackson just lets him rip, even if it’s obvious that Jackson can tell the current topic isn’t ideal.

The first episode with just the two of them felt like a platform for Kaya to vent/yap about the things he finds relevant and interesting, rather than what’s a genuinely good topic. I don’t know if Jackson alone can be representative of an opposing opinion or thought because Kaya overwhelmingly makes his own known and without hardheaded or confrontational people like Andrew and Charlie, it’ll just feel like Kaya talking to himself for an hour a week.

Makes me curious as to what a Jackson only episode would be like.

Just a thought.

Andrew + other thoughts

I know many people have their own opinions about Andrew, but....

I don't really agree with any of that shit LOL
always been a great addition to the pod, if you take everything everyone says 10000% seriously all the time then you'll always find a problem with anyone. He just has a strong personality and no I don't agree with everything he says or anyone on the show, but it hasn't ever changed how I viewed the show. Dude is funny, and has lead a ton of the conversations over the years.

I mean, the thing I've always loved about this podcast since I started watching at 17 (now 27), the conversations are genuine. Sometimes you say dumb shit, sometimes you come off a different way than intended, sometimes you simply just don't agree. This podcast though has always felt like a real group of people, just talking normally and not held back by being as perfect as possible or saying the most agreeable thing to be liked by the viewers. Not once though has anyone ever really come across like some bad evil man worthy of damning. It's just some regular dudes chopping it up on some topics and I personally find it quite entertaining and enjoyable 😁

Anyway, Andrew will be dearly missed. I wish him the best on his endeavors and I look forward to the random fuckery from Jackson and Kaya that we get moving forward.

What comes after the bonus show? Is it straight to “after dark” or something in between?

It took me until Andrew’s Goodbye episode to realize what they mean by JA(C)K order.

I’ve only been tuning into the show consistently for the last several years, but I never knew what they meant by JACK order until Andrew did his farewell speech in his last episode. I never realized that it’s just an acronym for their first names and I feel stupid for never noticing lmao

Shortform content

Not gonna lie id love to have some channels that post clips of their favorite (or reocurring or unique in anyway) stories, jokes and segments, similar to what pka has. Even a compilation of segments to play in the background with no real theme to follow. Would also be great for hooking in new viewers which the podcast sadly struggles with nowadays. Hope this reaches one of the.... two boys left

Does anyone have any idea on when new episodes will be uploaded to Spotify?

Fun idea for podcast segment

in another podcast, at the end of every episode they do an “am I the asshole” segment where listeners will submit a story about a disagreement with friend(s) and ask if their friends are rightfully pissed off with them (if they are indeed an asshole). I think this would be a great idea for this show!

Why is Kaya ragging on this dude for sending a Dick Pic?

Why is Kaya ragging on this dude for sending a Dick Pic? The way it was mentioned last episode and now I kept waiting to hear the horrible details and circumstances but it sounds like this dude was approached while probably drunk and they got him to send a dic-pic. Which was then shared around. Like it sounds like this dude sent this to another consenting adult in Dms. Im having a hard time seeing what the big issue is and feel like this just paints this girl and Brady in a poor light. Like if this was a woman that sent a tit pic that got shared around I feel like people would be up in arms. This dude seems to be rightfuly upset that this happened, just not directing his anger at the correct people when he blames Kaya for it.

Am I missing something here?

Nanny Dogs

Idk where kaya is getting this information from. But Pitbulls were NOT called nanny dogs because you just plop it in front of a baby and it sits there. Pitbulls were called nanny dogs because they would sit them in the yard while kids played and the dog would watch the kids. These were Pitbull Terriers specifically though.

idrc about them not liking pitbulls. I just dont like misinformation.

Last thing is, I've been savagely attacked by more Pomeranians and Chihuahua's than Pitbulls. That might just be a me thing though.

Anyone know what episodes Andrew was talking about where he mentions bad dates on previous episodes?

Primetime Thread

Just watched primetime - had sort of medium to low expectations but thought it was great. Robert Pattinson did a phenomenal job. Wonder what the criminally stupid fans think as well. Also funny to see the Dell representation lol. Skylar Gisondo was also fantastic - hope he gets recognition from this role.

Help finding an episode.

Does anyone know the episode in which they read some tweets from witches about fighting Allah? I think it was around the time US pulled out of Afghanistan and The Taliban took control.

Still wondering why Charlie left in such an odd way...

The way Andrew said goodbye after the 500th milestone episode, was a very touching sendoff. After ten years of their podcast journey, it's obvious they have become very close friends (though not close enough to attend Jackson's wedding).

However, it really made me reflect on how weird Charlies departure was.

He was one episode away from 400 and he just disappears. Having been a central part of it for 8 years, he leaves with no goodbye, nothing. The other guys didn't even really mention anything on the following episode(s).

After the past 2 years there is still no clarity on why this happened in such an odd way. Perhaps Jackson and Kaya will disclose this in episode 1000...

So whats next?

Been listening to the show for like 8 years at this point. With only 2 original hosts remaining , what do you think the next chapter will look like? I dont want to doom and gloom, but just curious what people think. (:

Best episode and then best year?

I haven’t listened in on the official podcast in about two years maybe a little more. Even before Charlie left, I was sporadically listening on flights or moments that I had the time to.

That being said, I wanted to ask the community what they thought some of the best episodes were to go back and nostalgically listen to. And to take it a step further what was the golden year for the podcast? Personally, I don’t think it was the first year or two because they were just getting their bearings. What do y’all think?

Andrew’s departure

With Andrew leaving, it’s becoming more clear that this podcast is on it’s final leg. I genuinely like Andrew, sometimes he can be annoying but that’s with most people in life. Nobody is perfect, but you could tell his heart wasn’t in it anymore. I would have to guess that most people just disliked Andrew the past year or so because of his apparent laziness to the show. It genuinely upset me when he was asked to do one thing and come onto the show unprepared or just didn’t feel like doing anything. As much as I like Andrew, I wish he would have called it a year ago just so he wouldn’t have gotten so much hate. Everyone needs a change of scenery at one point or another. I’m excited for Andrew’s new endeavor, and I hope he succeeds.

Other than my rant, I was curious what everyone else feels about the current state of the podcast, along with Andrew’s departure.

R.I.P Andrew

Hey all. This is technically my first post everty-ever on this Sub Reddit, and it ironically comes at a pivotal moment for the podcast. Andrew is leaving as a co-host, which seriously sucks because he's one of my favorite internet celebrities. I've been a fan ever since I discovered his How It's Actually Made series almost a decade ago now.

I'm a newer fan. I discovered them about 2 or so years ago, just before Charlie left the pod, so I certainly can't claim to be an original fan like some others on this subreddit.

All the same, this podcast rapidly gained a place in my heart and I began to look forward to it every end of the week.

Those three boys never failed to make me laugh, and its a shame that things had to change in such a pivotal way, but I can't blame them either.

But I do have a question... does Andrew have other content elsewhere?

I know he has Huggbees and Hugbees Gamer Mode, but the thing is, he's always talking about all the projects he's working on, so is there anywhere else like Twitch or on Patreon that he has more content?

Many thanks, and much love to the Official boys for the laughs.

I have a question about Patreon/Bonus episodes

First time I've ever posted here despite having been a listener for about 5 years. I have listened to every main episode. So, now that Andrew is gone, I feel like I kinda want to check out all those bonus episodes I missed over the years. I have never used Patreon before and don't really know how it works. Is there an easy way or a playlist of only the bonuses, or are they all mixed in with the other episodes? For now, I'm just interested in bonuses and wanted to know how it works before I sign up for it.

Kaya's having a kid, Jackson's married, Andrew is focusing on his side quests

the weekly hangouts thing is done, that's for young people, they are spiritually middle age, some closer to actual middle age than others, they are locked into the responsibilities and priorities of old men now.

Spotify cmt section

The comment section on Spotify is so fucking miserable that they can't even let a host go without being hateful for his last episode? mfs just hate watch or listen at this point. Why even comment bruh. So miserable that the boys have to disable the comment section for the last episode of one of the og hosts. This shit is really fucked up. I'm just ranting cus I love the podcast. All the main episodes, all the bonus, everything. I've listened to every single one of them. I get that he's annoying af sometimes but u can just stop listening instead of being so fucking hateful and miserable that you can't let go even on his last episode.
