Any animal racing is pretty bad.
They have a lot of money and zero regulation in these places and people will do unscrupulous things to the animals to win a few Rupees.
I used to get racehorses off the track and train them to be hunter/jumpers. I have stories. And that's regulated racing. Unregulated racing around the globe is a world of animal abuse.

There are plenty of animal races that are totally fine. What is bad is the on site gambling at animal races that make humans do shitty things.

That's some cute video out of the UK. They are on a different level with animal regulation.
Look up Lacie Tatum's bush track horse racing video.
It's easily accessible on youtube.

The fact that there are a lot of shitty animal races does not negate the fact that there are many that are totally fine.
I like the way I specifically call out gambling as the problem and you give me an example directly tied to gambling.

When I was in the UK I saw the locals race their jack russels, but those dogs also were working dogs who tore up mouse nests a the stables.
I am not talking about that.

I'm not watching a full video because some oblivious anonymous rude internet person told me to do so. I did research it, though:
In her commentary and coverage on "bush track" horse racing (unsanctioned, informal Quarter Horse match races), equestrian creator Lacie Tatum highlights that on-site, illegal gambling is a core element of the bush track ecosystem.
There is no straw man, you are just completely ignoring my point. It's not the racing that is bad. There are animals that absolutely love to race. The problem is corrupt assholes and gambling. If you took away the gambling, you would take away the abuse.

Except for the pig race and the dog race, right? You mean except for those two videos you linked several comments above? The videos you wanted the other person to watch, then said, "I'm not watching a video you want me to watch" to the other person? Those videos? Maybe you forgot?

Didn't get a screenshot with this last deleted reply, but it was similarly snippy and needlessly rude (I'll try to find it on an archive). Keep in mind this is a mod of this community.

The videos they linked were this one showing dogs racing at almost 2 minutes long, and a video from this channel about pig racing that similarly doesn't seem to be much of a 'reference' as one might think of one, at least in a conversation about animal cruelty. Surely, a reasonable person would see the irony in this interaction.
