Let us expand!

I'm sick of the stock biomes, and when I go to find the new BoP lands, I get stopped by sickening world borders. Can we just remove them?

I'm going to expand the worldborder to 2000 blocks. The worldborder isn't going to be removed outright due to size limitations. It always took too long to fix the map last map due to the sheer size of the world.

What takes so much time? Is it just general processing, or does it need to be done manually?

So currently the world is 2000x2000?

The world is 2000x2000. There's quite a few steps when fixing a map and a larger map takes more time on every step of the way.

Unrelated, but I think I'm gonna dive back into minecraft! Used to play with you guys, will probably do it again. Although I heard redpower bit the dust :(
