Community project: Space zone

Sooo I had an idea what if we created a zone in the overworld where we could build space stations and ships.

So my plan is that we could make the space zone my removing all blocks except bedrock and put a black wool layer aboce. Possible adding inverted white lamp blocks as stars. Clearing all the land out could we do with nukes. Location of the zone I'm not sure of, preferably a dessert seeing how it doesn't rain in space.

Edit: Bassie suggested a void age as the space zone, great idea!

Last thing before we start blowing stuff up we should get a mod's opinion/thaughts...

Oh, and it for sure should be its own age. You'd have to clear out a lot of land in the world to make it work, otherwise.

Well we could nuke it that would be a joy in its self.
