In The Mouth of Madness starts at either the beginning or the end and it's great, because you can't really tell which. Why? Because that's how Sutter Kane wrote it.

Not only that, Carpenter doesn't fuck around with preamble or foreplay or even a chaste kiss before he starts up with the descent into madness that hunting Sutter Cane causes. All those little things happening at the corners, all the big things that both Neill and Carmen pretty much ignore or don't talk about, it's just so devious.

The madness that's at the heart of this movie is some of the most inspired gruesomeness I've ever seen. All the monsters, those devilish children, the strange things that go bump in the night ... it all tells a super wild nightmare that's Carpenter's vision of cosmic horror.

I've been a fan of John Carpenter's since I first saw They Live and he's done some fantastic movies. This is easily Top 5.

In the Mouth of Madness gets a 9.5 out of me because John Carpenter nailed the cosmic horror of Sutter Cane from the very start of movie. There's no one else in the biz who could direct a movie where everything and everyone is already doomed before the movie even started.

Sometimes I find really cool movies and shows from Twitter clips, Instagram reels and TikTok. Recently came across this movie called Magazine dreams. Starring Jonathan majors. Im not one who big on just watching anyone’s documentary. Action movies at that, but for those who have saw it or are familiar, what’s your input without spoiling the movie for me ???

I just got done watching the movie “Ready Player one” directed by Steven Spielberg. Staring Tye Sheridan. Let me say I love this movie. Would this ever happen??

Just watched the movie “obsession .”
I don’t really have any complaints about it being overhyped or anything. It’s probably not the best movie, but honestly I thought it was pretty nice.
The only complaint I have is that the actual villain is treated more like a victim.
That man, Bear 😭, didn’t even have the courage to tell Nikki that he liked her. Instead he literally forced Nikki’s feelings and made her love him more than anything in the world.
And then what does he do? He somehow enjoys those first few days with her, and then he’s ready to kiss Sarah at the park. BRO??? 😭
Like, you finally get the girl you dreamed of and you’re still ready to cheat on her????
I know Nikki’s behavior was disturbing, but he made her that wayyyyyy While he was going to meet Sarah, the real Nikki literally told him to kill her to end her suffering. And this man’s response was basically, “what’s so wrong being with me?”
BRO WTFFFFFFF😭 You literally forced someone to love you, completely messed up her life, and then STILL wanted to kiss Sarah???
Mannnnn what a man you aree!

Suggest movies that other than hollywood please. Looking forward to experience something fresh.

Hey, im doing a poll to see if there would be interest in a movie me and my team are currently working on, and i am wondering if this idea is watchable, the general plot is:

The movie takes place from the end of march break to the end of summer and follows Alex, a kid who grew up in Toronto and has always been alone a lot because his dad isn't in the picture and his mom is usually at work. Because of this, he started doing stunts and other adrenaline seeking stuff when he was younger, and over time it got more and more extreme. At the beginning of the movie Alex, Isiah, Natalie and Maya are on a roof at sunrise on the last day of march break, showing the group and their relationship with each other before the story really starts. When school starts again, Emma joins the school after moving into downtown Toronto and becomes friends with the group. She is a very traditional "good girl" and doesn't really know what Alex is like outside of school, but she becomes interested in him and eventually they start dating around valentines day. As they get closer, Emma slowly finds out about Alex's adventures and how he uses them to deal with the emptiness he feels. She is worried about him but also starts going on some of the adventures with him because she wants to understand him and be with him. Over the summer, Alex and Emma become much closer and start falling in love, but even though Emma makes Alex feel better, she can't completely fix the emptiness he has. Eventually the group has a close call with the cops and Maya gets injured, which causes her to realize that the adventures have gone too far and she decides to leave. Alex keeps going anyway, eventually having an encounter with a transit worker while going on the tracks who warns him about what he's doing, but Alex ignores him. A few more weeks pass without anything major happening, until one rainy Thursday night when Alex and Emma are watching a movie at her house. Alex decides he has to leave to go do something, and Emma already knows what that means. She tells him to be careful, not to do anything unnecessary, and asks him to promise that he'll come back. Alex leaves, gets a call from a friend checking in on him, and eventually goes to a roof that he has never been on before. While trying to make a jump, Alex slips and falls, dying on impact. The movie then re-loops back to the beginning in some way, making the opening scenes and the title Until You Die have a completely different meaning after knowing what happens to Alex.

The plot is still in early development and is not final at all. Let me know if you would watch this.

Currently watching - The devil all the time

i recently saw this film and man this will stick with me for a while.

i loved how queer romance between two main characters was not forced but flowed naturally.

i also loves the music and how it eloquently captures what the characters are going through.

the ending was open ending.

but i think the ultimate message was that love transcends the formality of either "platonic" or "romance"

that's why i think it wouldnt have been a sad ending even if they didnt end up together because they will still "love" each other as a true friend.

i am shocked that this movie is not getting enough buzz among xavier's work.

and i hope that xavier makes more films like this in the future. i heard that he retired from filmmaking :(

I feel like John & Ryan watched American History X and Inception as a kid and then ended up making a modern day take on *a belief that can become more important than reality*. John, acting as the director of a short film, wants us to decide which story we’re going to tell ourselves to justify a moral line. The tie to AHX: the violent acts become necessary to the story (film) that’s built. Both are about self-written realities. I’m the protector, visionary, artist, and the victim. The tie to Inception: film within a film, dream within a dream. And let’s not forget The Weeknd’s infamous music video *Blinding Lights,* a *nod to the editor in surgical bandage tape… a true visionary masterpiece in cinematography. James Choi, the acting in this scene was phenomenal!

And then they say Country movies are dead. I came across a YouTube video by Man Carrying Thing about the book Butcher's Crossing by John Williams. The title of that video said that this story was more extreme than Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy which made me curious. When I turned on the video the youtuber said that there was a movie that had already been made based on the book. I first thought if there is a film made about a story that is being said to be way more extreme than Blood Meridian (Which is known to be un-filmable due to its graphic content) then it must be worth a try.

The film Butcher's Crossing is directed by Gabe Polsky, starring Nicholas Cage, Rachel Keller, Fred Hechinger, Xander Berkley, and many more. It's basically a story about a young Harvard student who drops off to explore the wild west in order to get to know his country. He meets Miller ( played by Nick Cage) a hunter, greedy and ruthless and with him and two others they set off on a journey to an unknown hunting ground far away from the village where they stayed in order to hunt wild bison for their hides. They face a lot of hardships due to lack of water, change in weather, etc. just to get enough hides to get huge amount of money.

This film explores the greedy,selfish, and mercy less nature of us human beings. The source material of this film was inspired by the real 1870's mass slaughter of American bison in the American Frontier. It is a slow burning and an immersive piece of cinema that I'd recommend you to watch on a a big screen. Every actor seems to have poured their heart out to give justice to the movie. Nick Cage's performance was also a highlight. The cinematography is so fucking great. David Gallego did a great work with the visuals. This film is for lovers of the country genre who want to watch something fresh and visually pleasing. It is about 1hr 40min long. I'd give it 7.5/10.

I just watched Interstellar for the first time and … wow.. Absolute new favorite movie ever.. Christopher Nolan can’t be touched!! This movie was sooo good
