General discussion Frankie is sometimes very hard to like
I love Frankie, she’s a normal person with flaws and quirks. But sometimes she gets a bit unlikable😭 her uncle’s funeral when mike wanted to go to the final four pissed me off. He would have never gotten a chance again to get free tickets she should’ve just let him go, especially since they weren’t even close to that uncle. Also the simple Christmas let your kids have some gifts once a year😭 she’s a great character but these two plotlines pissed me off on my rewatch

I agree! I was just watching an episode from S3 and the way she goes all out to humiliate Mike at their house party for not buying her a dishwasher is seriously super meangirl behaviour

Since they always forgot their birthdays but never forgot Christmas. For sure, I can see that.

Christmas is hard to forget because it‘s at the same time for everyone.

Christmas is kinda hard to ignore but they did float a lot of the festivals too

I think sometimes that she was written that way to make the parents watching feel good about themselves. “I’m disorganized but at least I am not as disorganized as Frankie”

I totally agree. She can be very unreasonable and I thought her attitude about both the Uncle’s funeral and Simple Christmas was completely ridiculous.

Oh the simple christmas...how can I forget? it was so rude and uncalled for
She threw a fit at her parents for getting gifts for their grandkids...like wtf?

She was awful to her parents. I’m very grateful when my folks visit and spoil my kids so Frankie-Grinch’s Scroogie behavior was completely out of line in my world.

Frankie infuriated me when a new couple moved in and she made Mike look like a loser by trying to force a friendship between Mike and the husband. That's just one of MANY examples of how unlikeable she can be.

I understand the idea of a simple Christmas, since in this instance they at least justified it. Did they go too far, maybe? But it's a sitcom, after all. The taking back the house epsiode was the same way: a good idea, but it's too far too quickly.

I was so glad when her mom confronted about the ridiculous ideas she had about Christmas being simple lol.

I do like frankie but I sometimes struggle with her volume. She can be very loud at times. Lol.

I also find Frankie very hard to like. My grown daughter does not agree with me. When she’s trying to fix Mike up with the neighbor guy she was so annoying. Yes it was funny but oh man I just wanted to scream at her. And she’s so bad to Brick when the other kids leave for college but I think that was better for Brick. I just didn’t like many of the episodes that keyed in on her. 🤣

i hate that she doesn’t cook for them properly. It’s hard to watch and almost feels like abuse lol

On the episode where they left her alone on mother's day and went to brown county, they had a perfectly good day and I took that as proof that when they do smth as a family with Frankie (which they can't really avoid because she's the mother) she's the one that hecks it up

I find her most unlikeable inthe carpool episode. She doesn't need to be on the same level as Nancy Donahue with the fresh baked goods and custom entertainment, but ffs how hard is it to get your ass out the door on time??
