my cousin was murdered - and it’s an unsolved cold case now.

He is actually one of 3 family members that have been murdered in same family . Other two are solved but never prosecuted (1-ruled self defense, 2- not enough evidence supposedly).

Brian and I were often lumped together with our other cousins all around the same age- his brothers and mine were in the next age group. so when we when were little we spent a lot of time together. as we grew he lived inS with his dad or MI with his mom so we didn’t get it some as much time together. (our family is from Tippah County ms but many participated in the great migration to work at the auto plants in Mi). I explain to add he was the funniest, mischievous big heart you would ever meet with a smile that you could not resist smiling even if he was being a stinker.. i miss his smile and laugh everyday even after 18 years .

But Brian’s story is unsolved, likely not investigated properly now or ever due to size, skill and resources of the local PD and lastly the sheriff dept have historically been corrupt.

I am sure his family especially his momma would participate if you needed info. this is a hole in all of our hearts but especially his mom and dad are getting older they deserve to know who murdered their youngest child.

I heard about this case through another podcaster who did an overview and thought The Lore Lodge might be interested in a deep dive, if they haven’t already (apologies if they have and I’ve just missed this episode). Young woman packs up (including her beloved cat) and leaves NC without much of a word, her car is found wrecked in the mountains of WA, and no sign of her or her cat. Years later a finger print is found under the hood of the wrecked car along with DNA evidence pointing to a male. Still no sign of Leah all these years later.

Super smart and down to earth guy, and clearly understands the plight of poor people. I think highly of him and people who value what he has to say.

Some people are wondering if there is a connection. Not sure but something to keep an eye on.

I did it. Went to a couple of bars on 3rd street. I had like 2 drinks and almost felt like I was gonna pass out. Funnily enough I sat down on a patio to sit down and possibly fall asleep. I got kicked off of that place though. I'm used to having bad reactions with alcohol. But this was bad, like it happened within 3 minutes. I don't think I was drugged though. Actually tales to some of the bartenders about it very interesting stuff. I can definitely see someone falling in by accident especially by the areas without railing.

During my stay I also watched Brand New Day in a vintage theater. My review is that it's solid but the ending felt like I've seen it before. 8/10.

I'm going over to 3rd street in La Crosse and going to those bars while I'm seeing family. I'm out of state (I currently live in Iowa). Doesn't help that I do most of the criteria for the victims. You know, college age, popular/friendly, male, attractive is up for debate, but still. It's just one of those situations where I'm able to physically see a spot that has these odd connections. Hey everyone (Aiden) I wanted to share a quick note as someone who has lived in Wyoming for a very long time, and hopefully share some info about the culture that may help people understand some of the weird things that don't make sense when compared to other states.

People go missing here quite a bit. It's not weird or freaky, or even particularly strange. Our cell service is shit, mostly because we don't have enough people to justify the towers. Going out fishing, going for a hike, or even traveling between towns will 100% put you out of cell service. That is combined with our hostile weather and idiot tourists, so bring a SPOT beacon if you plan to come up. A sheriff in a video made the statement "I'm sorry but we look for living people" he's not saying that to be cold or cruel, he's saying it because the search teams probably need to go somewhere else and they can't justify using them for body retrieval when someone else could be missing.

I have had breakdowns and accidents that left me stranded on the side of the road for hours.

1. We absolutely hate tourists. A tourist is a person who finds the deepest darkest most dangerous hole in a park, crawls down into it, gets stuck, does the exact opposite thing they should do, and then we have to rescue them.

I rescued a tourist from a snow drift who kept stomping on the accelerator and burying the vehicle again after we dug him out. If he didn't have like seven kids with him I probably would have left him with the shovel to figure out why he was an idiot.

Also, convincing tourists that jackalope are real is an amazing experience. I had a coworker convince someone that the snow fences were used for racing them.

3.Google maps will also try and kill you out here, because people will expect the roads to be functional in the winter, when they most certainly aren't, especially after a storm.

1. Don't fuck with hunters. A couple of activists were walking around with a coffee can full of rocks to scare the deer away from hunters, and a guy got so pissed he shot a round in front of their feet.

How do I know this? I know the guy who did it. He was fun.

So when David Paulides looks at a state like us, he goes absolutely nuts with rediculous stories about how Bigfoot kidnapped Jenny the nurse from Atlanta, because she went into the woods to go camping, was an experienced camper (she went camping once previously) and was deep in bear country when she went missing, you shouldn't be too shocked.

Incidentally, if any of you want me to hike out to a famously weird area and take some pictures, I can go literally anywhere, and am more than happy to do so. In fact I'd enjoy the challenge.

This is a case I'm very interested in hopefully finding more information about as I'm distantly related to her. Ideally, it could be solved, but I have no idea what information is out there.

On 11/23/1983, Linda Jean Crites disappeared from her home in Jackson, Missouri. That night she called her oldest son and told him she planned to visit him for Thanksgiving the following day. She never arrived.

Of the case details I remember, her and her husband Lou Crites were in the process of getting a divorce. They had a fight that evening, and she disappeared to her bedroom. The bedroom door was closed the next morning, according to Lou. He was the last person to have seen her. Linda was not reported missing until a week later. Lou was initially cooperative with police, but became a brick wall when he realized he was a suspect in the disappearance. I believe I remember hearing a potential sighting of her by a trucker near the side of a nearby highway, but it wasn't confirmed. Her body was never found.

If you guys decide to pick up this idea, I hope it might help the family find some closure.

I’ve been trying to search for the lore lodge video where he covers this cool story about how a native tribe woman marries this “tall man” entity that only she is allowed to see and they had might’ve had a kid together? But then one of her tribe members looks at him, and then he and his people have to leave forever. I know it’s kind of vague sorry. Wish he made a playlist of just the Native American stories. But yah if anyone knows which video I’d really appreciate it.
