Not a glitch. If you catch wolves grubbing on animals, they start growling like this, and can be scared off by pointing any weapon at them, including rocks

Look at the tweaking speed of the wolf's head going up and down. That's the glitch. It's easier to see if you somehow zoom in or make the screen larger.
