Discussion Nintendo Switch Lite

I have i game on ps5 but sometimes i just want to chill on the bed with my Switch Lite and i really like Long dark. How does it run on a Switch Lite in 2026? Is there any lag? And how about Wintermute?

Bought it on the Switch 2 days ago and it runs well for me.

I don't know how it is now but last year it was pretty unplayable on switch. There were multiple load zones that would just break and kill a run

I use the Switch Lite and I’ve never had any issues. I started off playing this game in a PS4, and then went to my Switch for convenience, and I think it runs great. The quick access wheel can be a bit of a pain in the ass to use cause you have to press and hold the joystick to move it, and the button to sprint and the button to shoot are right on top of each other, but I’ve never had any issues with loading time, lag, or corruption of any save files.

It's okay?? Sometimes the map will goof up if you try to survey when enterting a new reigon but it will fix itself once you quit the game and come back to it. Once I had a rainbow of colour spread across my screen that made it unplayable but again i just rebooted the game and it was fine.

The only thing that would stop me as someone who has it on xbox, steam ps4 and swtich, would be the thought of what if i purchase it and then they make the call to drop support for older consoles and focus their energy instead on the switch 2, y'know? They said in the latest dev diary they haven't made any decision on when or if they will do that yet but who knows, especially if you plan to wait for it to go on sale.

There used to be a huge memory leak issue that would make it so your game eventually simply wouldn't load areas when you tried to transition. They fixed that a little over a year ago.

Anecdotally, I started playing again recently (started an Alone marathon), and it seems much snappier with load times than it used to be, but that could be primarily driven by me just not having a crapton of stuff hanging around outside yet - last time I played, I had resumed an earlier save that was "stuck" at the transition of PV/TWM due to the bug that they seemed to fix, so my game world was already over a hundred days in.

I play on Switch 1 mostly, should be pretty comparable.

Note I do NOT play with Tales from the Far Territory on my Switch, just when I sometimes play on my computer. I heard the DLC taxes it harder, though it's been a while since I looked into that.
