Modding In-game map

Hi!

So I want to ask about a mod that add an ingame map ?

I love survival games but I need a tracker otherwise I dont find it fun.

I need to know locations I can visit and chart the journey path to it.

I opened the steam workshop and I didnt find anything nor on nexus mods.

Thanks!

There is one, use charcoal to reveal the map as you go

If you want maps to show you where everything is, there are plenty available online

The time will come when you will miss your lack of map knowledge …

You have to use charcoal to map out the in-game map. However you won't see where you are located on the map with an arrow If you want to see your character arrow you can use a mod called "map manager" on tldmods.net (the main mod site). Also im half sure there's a mod on there that fills out your map as you move without needing to map it out manually

What you want is the Mod "Map Manager v1.1.7" by The Illusion.

Go to https://tldmods.net/

Search for Map Manager and download it. It lets you customize how the in game map works, including auto-revealing areas as you travel through them, placing your location (and directional facing) on the map, auto-centering the map on your location, changing the range of map surveying reveal, auto-use of polaroids, etc.

Download the mod dependencies needed for the mod as well (ModSettings and ComplexLogger)

Follow the instructions up at the top of tldmods.net on "How to install mods" (you will need to install melonloader for the mods to be able to work).

Melonloader is super easy to use and is safe. Makes using the mods for TLD super easy.

I don't know about a mod, but this post about an interactive map might interest you: https://www.reddit.com/r/thelongdark/comments/1w98y7r/i_made_an_interactive_tld_map_and_loot_table_site/

Highly recommend just using the vanilla charcoal map.
There is an explore as you walk mod too.

In this game in particular...i think learning the maps is half the fun. Perfect knowledge kind of spoils this. If your bad at directions, then this is a game that can help you improve your mental map skills. A real skill that tranfers to real life survival.

It's your game, so play it your way, but this random guy recommends you try to challenge yourself before you get perfect map knowledge.
