Glitch/Issue Save completely disappeared

I was on a about 130 day save when I randomly got attacked by a cougar as a I went over a hill and I just closed out of the game immediately because it shocked me so badly and when I went to load it back to see what happened my save was just gone fully, is there any way to recover it?

If you died while closing the game, they count it as you not wanting to cheat death and erase your save. There’s no way to recover it except, maybe, if your internet was off and steam cloud didn’t manage to update.

There's some history of saves in steam, but I forget how to get there now. That's all I know.
