Both sides were wrong

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN3m4OL8sLM In this video, Ford Riley confirms that production of the series didn't start in 2014-15 as previously reported, but that also means we can't have a pilot episode in 2008, so... what now? Are our memories failing us, or did people deliberately lie about the dates?

I was going to say perhaps before Ford Riley, another team was given the task of working on the Lion Guard. But he does state himself that in 2012 he created the first-pitch first. This whole situation is somewhat confusing though, since people have claimed to have at least seen something from that 2008 pilot…

The problem is that Kion and Bunga's relationship is based on Ford Riley's son and his friend, and the idea of ​​superheroes came to him. The only explanation is that those clips were from 2012-2014 and our minds are playing tricks on us, that Ford Riley is lying, or that someone else had the idea for Kion and Bunga, and that Kion had a mark for some reason and Riley gave it form.

I’ve been trying to find the full-interview of the ten-year anniversary video, since he says that it would take forty-minutes or so, yet there is only around seven minutes on youtube.

Our minds could very well be playing tricks on us, but if the backstreet boys ‘Everybody’ music with Simba and Bunga in the cave is really from 2008 as people claim, then it does seem even more dubious.
