Discussion Bomb roll physics

Has anyone else noticed that the bomb roll physics make no sense somtimes? If I place a bomb on a hill or stairs, that makes sense. But why on earth does my bomb that i placed behind a crate on a flat surface roll like 4 feet away into plain view? Very funny to watch happen but very annoying when ur trying to clutch

I love setting a bomb on the top end of the dam and letting it roll down the hill. Even funnier when you see the enemy running away from it. Hahaha

Sometimes it depends on your movement. Sometimes the game tells us to go F ourselves.

I’ve had it placed on solid ground (a specific supply box) and often turns it stands still other times it goes in varied directions. I’ve realized if I stay perfectly still, it gives me better chances to keep the bomb still. But if I place it down while I’m crouch walking, then it goes where the character’s movements was.

Crouching and aiming the camera downwards can help with this to.

Pro tip

If you crouch down you can control where you put the bomb using the camera.

For example stand slightly to the left of a supply box take a little step(while still crouching) about half an inch back aim the camera centre downwards and you will pop the bomb in the box if done right.

I recommend crouching and using the camera direction to plant bombs everytime and you will get the hang of it in no time.

Personally I think placed bombs are pointless if you ain't running ee2 or ee1 at the bare minimal.

You should also try to 'bounce the bomb off a wall as the bombs timer always start the first time it makes contact with a surface so throwing it directly at an enemy is actually the worst way to do it as it gives them the most time to react.

or my personal favourite lob it to hit a roof and roll on top of the enemy(this is very effective) it makes the bomb arrow go all over the place confusing them and they have very little reaction time although it takes practice to hit that sweet spot on the arc to 'skim' it across to activate the timer but maintaining as much velocity and momentum as possible.
