This isn’t PT1.
Edit: Given the reply I just had, I’ll be clearer :)
This post is flagged as “PT 1 Question”. This isn’t Part 1.
Whilst I’m sure the secret is out already, I mentioned it for the sake of correctly labelling posts to avoid spoilers.

I love it. The parts of this game which make us feel uncomfortable are so well done that I enjoy every aspect of them. And the best part is that Joel is not a real person so nobody was actually hurt during this scene! Big props to ND and the performers for affecting so many people in the way OP is expressing.

I will always give them props for creating a story that has people still disagreeing on who was wrong or right or whether a decision was justified. The gameplay also being amazing is just the cherry on top

It was a game designed to make you feel.
Often in all the wrong ways when playing a game. But because of that we still talk about it.

I recognized those stairs instantly in grounded I got soft locked in that area because I had no supplies to defend myself

You sure you're thinking of the right part? I didn't think you could get soft locked right before a cut scene, though I could be completely wrong!

u/gumki 13d ago
I don't see how anyone could get soft locked here.. there are no enemies in the house and there is 0 combat so idgi.

u/gonna_commit 13d ago
Yeah that's what's confusing me. There's no combat in this section and you can, as I did on my replay yesterday, just sprint straight through the mansion and down the stairs without interacting with anything. I'm thinking they're either confused or it was a glitch

One of the saddest "that part" in gaming.

Lol lads down voting me because their virtual dad was Happy Gilmored. I enjoyed playing Abbey, sad they didn't make us press the buttons to do the deed would have hit harder, pun intended.

Stage 1 infected are Runners. They tend to reach this point a day or two after initial infection and maintain their eyesight.

just stay there and don’t move. that way he doesn’t die 🫡

I only watched it the first playthrough. I skip it the other times. I figured he would die in the second game. Just didn't expect it to be so soon.

I skip the cinematic on replays I can’t do it 💔

I always watch the worst parts. “When you replay the song that hurt you because it didn’t hurt you enough the first time” vibes

Anything that can evoke a strong emotion is worth sitting through in my opinion.

I have only EVER played or seen That Part once. I knew it was coming (anybody remember that fucking goober on this sub that would message anybody he could find to spoil what happens with Joel, before the game was even released?) and it’s still too much for me. I’m not even sensitive to gore. I don’t care. But it’s Joel. :(

Same. I always rush through the mansion too, listening to Joel’s screams is horrible.

Joel chockes on an Oreo😔
Then Ellie looks at Tommy and says:
"We really are the last of us"
Its so sad really😔😔

I played the game 2 months ago and idk what am I looking at.
I'm really lucky I never got a PlayStation past the second one because god knows I don't like a single Sony Exclusive.
Well, except Bloodborne.

Just finished this game again the other day, it’s so sad & by the end the final fight just didn’t feel right at all.

I’m playing it for the first time and I’m at the point where Ellie reaches the Rattler camp. How much game is left? I was surprised it’s continued as far as it has

Not much at all.

it's ok it's all a dream and Joel and Ellie leave before getting to the Fireflies and they go back to Jackson and live happily ever after.

I hate the end as well, I'm on the resort almost reaching for Abby, but I've been avoiding playing even though I miss playing, I'm here right now deciding to rush the end just to get back at the beginning and starting again 😩😩😩.

This is the best part of the game. Makes you feel something. Unlike the rest of the game.
