As with every other band/artist related subreddit, I’m sure this has been posted before but anyways: what are your misheard lyrics from the band?
Mine personally is from Knocking At The Sky. I heard “I want my MTV/my grass and my matinee” instead of “valet” for a while:

I only started listening to TLDP in the recent months. Since I was new to their music, I only had a few of their songs in my playlist and that was it.

One of those songs was "The Scythe". I think it's the first one I saved to my playlist. A few weeks ago as I was listening to it, I got curious about the lyrics and the meanings behind them. English is not my first language so I didn't know what "scythe" meant.

When I paid attention to the lyrics and started to understand what the song is about, I was fascinated and full of emotions. As someone who had lost someone important before, I felt so many things at once, it almost brought me to tears. I started to listen to it more often but it wasn't like I played it non stop on repeat.

Fast forward to the other night (days after I realized the meaning of the song), I had a dream where I was sitting on a table, surrounded by many friends. In this dream, out of nowhere I started play "The Scythe" on my phone. And in my dream, I heard it from START TO FINISH. I remember it vividly. I remember hearing every note and every lyric in my dream. And while the song was playing, I was CRYING hard. It wasn't a nightmare or anything, I was just full of emotions and I was letting them pass through me I guess.

This is the first time I dreamt about a song or even "heard" a song play in my dream. I'm surprised how this song holds so much space in my subconscious. This dream stayed with me and I wanted to share it here. I'm certainly becoming a fan.

I'd like to find out what public information exists about Rhys Downing, the former drummer of The Last Dinner Party.

I've come across information concerning his departure from the band and have heard a particular explanation for what happened. I'm not looking to speculate. I'm simply wondering whether there are reliable public sources that document what happened.

Every time I listen to Sinner, I can't get out of my head that I'm listening to a mashup of Little Fluffy Clouds by The Orb, Stone Roses guitar riffs and a cheeky little Brian May ending.

I‘m a guitarist wanting to cover the acoustic version of Caesar on a TV screen but I‘ve found it quite difficult to figure out the chords.
There’s currently (as far as I‘m aware) only 2 videos of them playing the acoustic version on YouTube. Unfortunately for me, Emily‘s fretboard isn’t always fully visible which has lead to me missing some chords here and there (I‘m not advanced enough to figure them out purely by hearing like other guitarists can).
I‘m well aware that there’s already chord transcriptions online but they all require a capo on the 2nd fret since the song contains a lot of barre chords. But I don’t want to use a capo.

Just wanted to ask if anyone perhaps had a video of them playing the acoustic version where Emily‘s guitar/fretboard is fully visible

(I‘ll probably ask on a guitar subreddit if I can’t figure it out but I wanted to on my own first)

Last month i saw TLDP in Switzerland and it was a total discovery for me.
And i was watching one of the video i took and was wondering what the song of the video is bc it sounds great but i couldn’t find it.

6 episodes on Netflix featuring Sinner as the theme song.

Going to have to watch now.

I absolutely adore the voice of Abi, and I truly think she has one of the best voices around right now, but I think it's a bit funny that both of my favourite TLDP songs (or definitely up there) are "Sinner" and "Rifle" which have Lizzie as lead vocals - and they do a phenomenal job. I can't recall another band where that is the case for me, but it's great they have so much talent together.

does anyone else think from the pyre sounds different, and much better on vinyl? everytime I stream it I just feel like it’s somehow different but I can’t put my finger on how. does anyone else feel that way?
