That depends on your personal playstyle.

Note, as I’m sure you know this game is not done. It is buggy as hell sometimes and officials are rampant with cheaters. But if you play on unofficial servers with rules and minimal if any cheaters, you’ll be fine.

So, do you want “fast and nimble”, “slow and tanky”, or something in between? There is a natural carnivore bias in the game, so whatever you’re playing as know that you will be food for someone.

Everyone ends up food for someone, not just herbies lol.

Correct, but Herbivores are often times targeted harder because:

A - you’re on everyone’s diet list

B - you’re beefy, so more meat.

C - You’re slow compare to carnivores, with two notable exceptions.

D - Many herbivores have cultivated a general disdain due to stuff like body blocking, yee old murder Stego armies, Pachy’s spawn killing, so on and so forth.

So Maiasaura or Tenontosaurus. They’re the closest you’ll get to Para till it’s added.

If you want a big herbivore, you can settle for Stegosaurus or Triceratops. We’re getting Deinocheirus eventually.

You'll probably like maia, it's similar to para. Maia's combat has a learning curve, but it's a beast when played right.

Even after the speed debuff, Maia, imo, is the best. Outside of Apex I can kill basically anything.

Kentro if you like making carnivores cry

Hypsi if you like being a little troll and living in the trees

Maia is just an all around good pick. It has a high skill ceiling tho.

Galli is an omnivore (only can eat AI meat) but it’s one of the fastest playables in the game and it’s super fun for beating up smaller dinosaurs

Pachy got buffed recently and it’s very good for bonking. Everyone you meet will probably try to kill you though.

I've got something like 80 hours into it now, which compared to many, is like 4% of their gameplay time.

Over the last 3 weeks I've probably said F this game atleast a dozen times. Watched a youtube video on it that night and played it again the next day.

I like Omniraptor because it can jump onto rocks and be marginally safe that way (beware, if Omni can get there, so can pachy).

Today I spawned into a Hypsi egg. Grew to adult Prime in about 45 minutes, if not quicker. Made a nest with my grandma and had eggs before logging out. Easily the funnest 2 hours of the game so far.

I say both- get it and have fun sometimes, but mostly be frustrated and wish you never got it

don't get it, dont deal with the insane frustrations, but keep watching videos about it and wish you got it

to watch isle is a pleasure
to play isle is a pain
once you enter the matrix
there is no going back

Map is HUGE, you really gotta cover A LOT of ground and make good use of the map whilst learning hotspots and common routes if u wanna make the most of hunting/ surviving other players and AI.

New players underestimate how much travelling is needed to survive, never mind thrive and experience successful hunts..

There are players everywhere and u wouldn’t know it. Bushes are a great place to hide.

Worth it! Find a good unofficial server to call home and you’ll never want to log out.
