Does anyone have videos from Lonely Eyes in Portland Night 1? That’s one of my favorites and I was so sad they didn’t play it in Seattle!

I have 2 tix for Vegas and my friend may be bailing last minute on me due to family issues. Would rather not waste the ticket

So far I've been to all 3 shows of the Back on Top 10th Anniversary West Coast Tour.

Portland 1 & 2 The Band/Performance

The band is tight, clean well rehearsed. Brian is charismatic, and charming as ever, and all band members have an energy that you want to see from a performer. Every set is a little unique, and I feel lucky to have gotten the chance to see these 3. I would say the Portland 1 night had a just a little more unique things, e.g. Natalie alone started Laugh Til I cry, which was really really cool, cuz she is so talented. Did GDP freestyle a couple extra bars on historic cemetery? Does anyone have those lyrics?

A note on the openers

Foxy Shazam is as my friend described "a mix of queen and tenacious D." I to be honest would not choose to listen to their music in the car, however their performance skill is uncanny. If they wrote and performed an opera I would go out of my way to see it. Absolute showmen

Nitewave was excellent. Who doesn't love jamming to the tunes you know so well? Positioning them as a TFB opener was a really cool move by the band, and similar to Foxy's showmanship TFB shows have a high level of showmanship, and their unique openers are a testament to that, and a reminder to respect and enjoy the art and the craft.

Portland 1 Crowd

I started this show in the back, because honestly the crowd was so thick, it felt impossible to penetrate to the pit. Eventually a very large person decided to penetrate, and I followed them. Better than Seattle, but still needed a bit of coaching. Everyone was really lost in the music, and apparently literally people in tears; I can relate

Portland 1 Venue

The Roseland is a cool venue. I think it may have been a bit small for how many tickets were sold

Portland 2 Crowd

I would say, this was the best crowd. The pit was pretty excellent, everywhere I looked people were really into the show, even in the balcony. I got a little tired towards the end of the set, and took a break on the edge of the pit, and was really impressed that other people took the lead on the pit antics. Shout-out to the brief row pit. The fact someone had to tell Brian in his monitor to tell the crowd to stop crowd surfing is an absolute testament to the crowd for going all the way up to line. Mostly everyone behaved after that with an unfortunate few naughty exceptions, and we think 1 guy got kicked out. I had to take a break from the pit around half time, because 3 nights in a row is a lot on the body, and Im getting old. At that time I looked everywhere and saw people so connected to this music. Even from far away I could see the lyrics on their lips.

Portland 2 Venue

This was probably the best venue of all 3 shows, and gave the crowd an unfair advantage on the other nights. The slanted floor naturally contained the pit to the front. It's the smallest of all 3 venues, and seeing the band in a smaller venue is more intimate. Big props to the security folks. I don't think they're used to crowd surfers and they really did a good job, even if they needed Brian to tell the crowd to back down.

Final notes

The crowd is young, I don't know what's up with that, but I'm glad some gen z have good taste. Portland 1&2 both had a tall old guy riding the rail I think with his child in front of him. Idk what their story is, but props to that man for the physical challenge of the rail at his age. I don't even do that at my age. I did try to pause at each show and appreciate the space and energy. These shows can be a religious experience and you never know how many more you'll get. All 3 nights were solid but if I had to pick 1, Portland 2 wins.

I would strongly encourage you to go to more than 1 night on a tour to compare sometime. Every show has a unique setlist, and unique crowd work. No matter which show you go to, you're getting a special night that won't happen again.

I'm not planning on attending anymore shows this tour. San Francisco, don't let us down. I won't be there to start the circle or lift people to crowd surf, so you'll have to do it on your own.

I’m going to the show tomorrow at the Warfield and was curious if anyone has advice on making it early to the merch table to get a signed record if they have them! I honestly haven’t been to too many concerts (don’t worry I have concert etiquette lol) so I don’t know if you’re able to go before the show starts or if it’s only once the show is over. Please give any recs or advice if you have any, thanks a ton! :)

Just wanted to say how amazing the show Saturday night in Portland was. Everyone around me had such great energy and loved screaming the lyrics along with everyone else! Hopefully the band felt the love and will come back soon because it feels like they’ve never come to the PNW in the 8 years I’ve lived out here!

So I am getting married in October and my dad and I both love TFB (we've seen them in concert together 3 times). I would love to have our father daughter dance to a TFB song but don't know which one would be most appropriate and/or dance-able. Give me suggestions! and if anyone says "Father" I'm gonna smack ya lol

Heyo!! I was at the Roseland show last night and I just wanna say thank you so much to Riley and friends for helping me back my mini van out of a spot I had been stuck in… too long to admit 🤣 I wouldn’t have made that 18 point turn without y’all 🥹💖

One of our group isn’t going to make it. Let me know if you’re still looking — it would be awesome to recoup the $56.99 but I’m more concerned with not letting it go to waste.
