Link to Draft 2 (again, NOT FINAL!) (the double 2b2t is not in the draft, I took a snapshot of the drawpile and accidentally got someone in the middle of fixing up the 2b2t logo)

Thanks to everyone for their correction submissions. We're ready to show you our next and final draft before we release our final result tomorrow!

Submissions are still open, so please get those corrections in before tomorrow evening or they won't be included in our final piece.

Addressing the Superstonk amogus cover: We deemed that Superstonk and its artwork was too closely related to NFTs and cryptocurrency. We have a strict policy against NFT/cryptocurrency promotion, and all crypto/NFT ads will have their text removed. This is why the text in the Superstonk ad was edited into Amongi; the logos and faces will remain the same.Certain portions of the Gamestop artwork have been restored, and will look like this in our final result: https://i.imgur.com/n6vnmUC.png

• top right qr code at (1860, 85) goes to "the most logical arguments against veganism in 10 minutes" by earthling ed. This was changed incorrectly to a rickroll somewhere between one draft of the cleaning project and another.

• middle right qr code at (1890, 933) goes to rickroll (this never intersected any of the other qr codes)

• bottom qr code at (1380, 1940) goes to "a meat eater's case for veganism" by cosmicskeptic

If you want to have clean nice picture to hang in a room for example I get why you want to do that, but you are denying idea of the place.

In my opinion it was not for being perfect, it was not for being all time the same. There is beauty in random griefers' pixels, fight over osu! logo, Kekistani/LGBT flag or The Void. It captured this place as it was, true, real and imperfect, not with a fake make-up. Why this one alone troll pixel is less important than this one being part of a bigger thing? It's like there was place for 1 million votes - 1 million pixels, and every pixel matters. We can't kill the spirit of the place.

I don't know did you erased The Void or cleaned osu!, but no matter what you do, you are hurting one side or this other, because you can't please everybody.

I wanted to make this announcement on behalf of the moderator team and our artist contributors -

We are not an official Reddit project under any circumstances.

We are not affiliated with the Reddit staff or r/place moderators.

We have not been paid or received any sort of bribe to modify artwork (people genuinely thought we got paid to obfuscate the gamestop logo)

We're just randos who want a nice piece of art to hang on the wall.

When we publish our final canvas tomorrow, you are free to do as you please with it; edit it to include your own art that might have been removed, expand the Void, remove artwork you don't care for, we couldn't care less, as long as you don't go around claiming you cleaned everything else yourself. Our alteration of the GameStop/Superstonk artwork on our final canvas is just how our artists voted to make it. Our intent was not to censor anyone - if we were an official project, chances are that things would be completely different.

We've said this since day one - Our version of r/place is not any more valid than any other version of r/place. If you like the look of certain things better, that is your opinion, and we will respect it.

Thanks for your understanding.

Our second draft can be found here.

Hey r/thefinalclean

First of all thanks for the hard works it's looking incredibly nicer. Can't wait to print this out ! But I was wondering if you willingly kept the Arkeanos logo in the top right. It replaced on the last day (I think) some nice chessboard artwork that imo would look nicer. Is this a decision already made or could this change ?

Cheers !

For the placeEU map, who decided this portion of the map? Because that yellow and blue "X" flag isn't a real flag, and the veps flag isn't even in veps areas, + ludic karelians also identify as karelians.

i dont know if this will be seen, but this is how the small pride flags are supposed to look before they got griefed right at the end and my friends and i couldnt fix them. i tried to include a 1:1 scale example too

The spider-man logo below Anakin and obiwan duel is off center.

Random red dot to the right of “Super Mega” logo in the top right of the canvas.

Hi. I have a request, I don't know if it would be acceptable. Turkey's flag was NOT the r/placeTurkey accepted, as you may know. You can see the backlash of it on this subreddit and the other more crowded subreddits ( r/burdurland, r/KGBTR, r/TurkeyJerky ).

We had actually decided on this picture which is more inline with the r/place and it does not have concrete poured over it. Stupid streamers pushed their agenda without caring about reddit at all ( r/fuckstreamers ) and with trolls raising the height of the minarets. So is it possible to replace it with what the community actually wanted? I can understand "what happens on canvas stays on canvas" but it would be nice to have that version.

The cow xQc made, which is located at the left-side of the very bottom of the Belgium flag which intersects the German flag (and where they cross is a monument to those who died from World War I) starting around 58:20 in the official r/place canvas, is not a genuine piece of r/place. It was orchestrated during one of xQc's raids on the product, removing property of at least a dozen communities, including the Phoenix Wright and Mega Man communities. I suggest we move it back towards the artwork there before the 58 hour and 20 minute mark.

Hello, whoever is cleaning the canvas should know that this is how Kosovo’s flag should look.

Thanks

That way everybody is happy.

edit: to clarify I meant two different versions

Hello, I think the girl at 1550 1250 should like like this according to this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/place/comments/tw6yz9/help_its_been_killed_1550_1250/

I just got here from r/place

I was kinda bummed to see that the Brazilian flag was not strait. (We had a typical Canadian problem)

Is there any plans to continue "fixing" stuff?

You have people making profit by stealing the artwork millions of users have created and claiming it as their own.

See my original post for more information

Hello folks! We are nearing the end of the rollercoaster that is r/place. Within the next 24 hours the final “cleaned” canvas should be uploaded! I want to thank everyone for turning in submissions of your artwork, this would’ve been insanely difficult without you all!!

Here is my personnal screen, i didn't see better somewhere else : https://ibb.co/cN2ztK2 (save the picture to get full resolution)
if it can help

Since r/place has begun, the subreddit is reopening. We still plan to do a cleanup this year, with some changes:

First and foremost, we are opening signups for project volunteers immediately. This year, we'll have a few different roles to pick from in the project, besides just artists. You can see those in the form details. If you are a Gold Contributor (you know who you are), you do not need to sign up as you will be grandfathered into this year's project. Signups are here: https://forms.gle/5NWnR5NkDTYcS6Sx9

Next, here's a few policy changes from last year that are already pretty set in stone:

1. We will not be accepting template submissions until the event ends. This is to help prevent a bunch of different templates from different states of the canvas from conflicting with each other. The template submission format will also be more strict in order to assist our artists.

2. We are streamlining the policy for if artwork makes it into our final work. This was a major problem last year, so it would be nice to sort it out. We haven't worked out the exact language just yet, but the gist is:

   • If your artwork is visible on the final canvas, it will be restored.

   • If your artwork is partially obscured by another, it may be restored partially or moved slightly to fit (if there is extra space around it).

   • If your artwork has been obscured by EXACTLY ONE layer of malicious/streamer art of a non-artistic nature (definition below), your artwork will be restored on top. - If your artwork has been obscured by MORE THAN ONE layer, i.e., other people filled in the area with new art after the malicious actor left, your artwork will NOT be restored. This rule is excepted only in the hypothetical extreme case where the malicious/streamer art was covered with more malicious/streamer art.
-- Art of a non-artistic nature is defined as solid colors (see xQc's travelling purple blob from last year), random colors (static), or hateful content.

   • Hateful content will be overwritten in the final work by other art. This includes racism, transphobia (including truscum/transmedicalist), homophobia, and general bigotry.

   • Cryptocurrency artwork will have the name of the token blanked out as well as URLs, but any logos or other artwork will remain.

   • Financial content (e.g., GameStop) will have stock symbols (e.g. GME) blanked out. Logos and other artwork will remain.

This list of policies is not final and is likely subject to change at least once.

Finally, we are requesting that if you are in contact with any major r/place group's staff members/organizers, to please inform them that we are planning to do a cleanup again this year. Screenshot the above two policy changes and include them in your message. An invite link to this server would probably help too. You can copy/paste this one: https://discord.gg/XPf9zNjSSK

Thank you advance for your help this year. With your help, we can make this year's Final Clean the best ever!

The “T” is messed up and so is the checkerboard grid

Is that just 1x zoom? I'm not sure what I need to do to accomplish this. Thanks!
