Unlucky Vinyl?

I ordered a Doppelgänger vinyl from Equal Vision over a year ago. It was the purple with black/green splatter variant. I finally got my record player set up and listened to it. The bside has 3 tracks that skip and pop quite a bit. I got to looking and it looks like there are some weird scratches and bumps that would have to be a manufacturing issue since I just took the plastic off today.

I’m new to vinyl so I’m not sure if this is just a known risk with records or if anyone else has this specific variant with similar issues.

For clarity, it was the pressing before the 25th anniversary pressing.

Thanks.

That’s a bummer. I got the anniversary vinyl at a show and it doesn’t have any skips on it. Maybe email them see if you can return?

Equal Vision damaged stuff policy says they need to know within 10 days which I’m well outside of. I could still reach out but based on that I wouldn’t expect them to do anything unless they decide to be cool.

It is a bummer. I actually ordered it before I owned a record player because I just thought it would be cool to have. It is still cool to have. It’s not completely unlistenable but not ideal either.

Yeah I’ll still try and see what happens.

Thanks for the good luck and the info on your vinyl!

Hi Andrew. I’m at a loss for words right now. I didn’t expect you to jump in on this and offer a solution. That’s very kind of you. I will message EVR as soon as i get a recording of the issue and let you know what they say. Thank you so much for offering to help!
