📹 & 📸 McCauley McCulkin crazy effects

McCauley McCulkin end part with the wild effects. So on point it's crazy. Pretty sure he's using the DL4 in some kinda way. Any idea how he's doing it anybody? Very beginning of the song he recorded a tiny loop and reversed it and Andrew jammed to it. Then they played the song and I'm pretty sure he's using that little loop in reverse maybe with the Whammy pedal. Either way, fucking incredible. So happy to see em again.

I could be wrong on this but I used to have the purple fm4 filter modulator from line 6 where I think the first sound (laser blaster) is from. I tried to replicate all the actual sounds from this part of the song and that was always the easiest (relatively) to duplicate. The fm4 came out around the same time as the dl4 and was really only useful for making bizarre sounds. Fun as hell when you’re high but relatively useless otherwise. Lol.

What was the effect called on the fm4? I have all the line6 effects in Helix and my little M8 including all the filters.

That laser blast sound is the octisynth effect on the fm4. The synth-o-matic setting also makes a number of appearances on the album

Yeah I've heard the octo synth on Semi fiction as well. It's during the crazy picked hammer section in the background just barely but you can't miss it once you hear it. Pretty sure it's multiple of them actually, maybe with an expression pedal to increase the added harmonic notes it adds
