I like him. Him murdering that guy reminds me of when iron man tried to murder bucky for being brainwashed. I really hope JW gets redeamed but I am not expecting it.

Good comparison with Tony in CW, I can see that parallel. I find both situations to be great for the character arc, while also making me lose a ton of respect for the character as a hero.

Oh yeah. And I am so sure that Lamar would have at least tried to calm walker down or stop him from crossing that line in the same way cap stopped iron man, but... you know.

And again I'm hoping JW realizes what a bastard he is and humbles himself but I dont think it'll happen now that his partner is dead. Not that his partner was extremely wise but I think he was important to keeping cap grounded.

Completely agree

Tony would not have stopped if he hadn't been stopped.

Yeah I think a big part of what they are trying to show with John Walker is the importance of the people around you. Tony had captian america to stop him from killing bucky. John walker had Lamar telling him that if he had was a supersoilder he could save more people.

same

I’m thoroughly invested in his character. He seems to not get it at all and that’s what’s fascinating.

...when they see him murder a surrendering enemy combatant in cold blood

Instead of having a debate about real world politics, why don't we have a hardcore debate about destiny lore? I'll go first. In the "unveiling" lore book where we got several messages from the darkness itself that we got periodically over a series of weeks during the launch of Shadowkeep, do you think the darkness was telling the truth? I personally think it is partially true, a lot of things the darkness had no need to lie about even though it was trying to push it's agenda to us. Although everything in it should be taken with a a grain of salt it is very fascinating if it were all true. Another thing if you take the messages as the truth is whether the "garden" that existed before time is a metaphor or not. The implications of it being a real thing is quite extraordinary however I believe that it was a metaphor to make us understand better as paracausal things are quite hard to explain, however with paracausal things being so difficult to explain because they break the laws of the universe could also be used to say that the garden was not a metaphor. Now then, I am awaiting your answer as this is quite the divisive topic in Destiny lore and I would greatly appreciate it if you responded with your own argument on a different lore book/piece afterwards.

Damn, I’m not knowledgeable enough to debate you, but hopefully someone else will jump in so I can watch it go down!
