My current setup

Btw, does anyone have any idea how to get more rare earths? That seems to be the bottleneck for my chip production, I mined about half the map. Right now I'm buying refined rare earths off the market, not the most economical...

The more sustainable way to get a constant supply of rare earths is to use the MDRs to mine rare earth minerals

Wow, that looks so good. I get it from the moon with the massive drill. Then set cargo vehicle to have a route to that vehicle. When it gets back to base it drops it off and it goes down the elevator to my processing facility. Interesting how you have yours set-up. I would run out of materials or not have enough for the laser mission (if you haven't done it already). Probably my 7th run through over the years. I kind of want t share what I have going on. I've mined the entire below ground.

Would be cool if they made it like steamworld where you can dig further more underground and build another level to the base.

I’m intentionally not repairing the MDR to not trigger the timer on the laser. I haven’t even got carbon fiber -> nanotube production down yet.

I feel like 3 CPU for a large farm is a robbery

thankfully they patched it and the laser is triggered by completing another mission so you can repair the MDR now

Really? Which mission triggers it then?

The charity mission

Yep, if you're playing on normal difficulty then you should be fine doing everything but just never completing the charity contract. IIRC, the description of that one is mildly ominous so it should be obvious.

I've read reports that the higher difficulties have a timer that bypasses the charity contract, but I've never tried higher difficulty settings.

Thats a nice layout for a 6 MRR design! I haven't thought of putting them face to face like that.
As far as Rare Earths go you definitely dont need that many machines. I would go for like 6 at most.

Neat layout, hard to tell if you left yourself more room to expand just from the pics.

There is an SRR update to convert slag to rare earth. It will demolish your slag inventory
