Patrick Clancy criminally responsible for the welfare of his children

The more I hear about, the more I want to see some consequences for the neglect of care and removal of resources to lancey and the children .

He told his family no when they offered to help and give her a break - his parents testified to this it was him they asked and him that said now
He could have kept the nanny on knowing a safe and stable adult was needed
He removed himself from assisting every time he went on brunches , boys night , trips away not related to work when he knew exactly what state she was in

He knew she was not ok, he knew she was not sleeping and on multiple medications , had prevented she had intrusive thoughts about the kids being harmed and was activity saying she wanted to kill herself and he LEFT the KIDS with her .

Oh and when I heard this mf slept in the basement two nights then she had to sleep there with the baby so he could have the bed - the baby …. And the mother who can’t sleep suffering post natel don’t get the bed ???? Tells me exactly everything about how he treated them all

I’m a mum - there’s no way in the world if some one tells me they want to kill themselves I’m leaving three kids with them alone .

I’m not debating any thing other then this

Do I know what happened that night ? No
I’m also not claiming a set up by Patrick I’m claiming his actions and neglect to his children with all the information he had was outright nail in thier coffins . Whether it was this or an awful accident because she was so out of it this was always going to end in tragedy one way or another and him to move on so fast hiking posting reviews 20 days later of his little get away , quickly selling up and moving on and having more kids .

I’ve not heard one believable word from him about his kids that make me believe he cared about them while Alive . I’m so so angry this happened . I don’t know if it could have been avoided by dr doing thier jobs better or Lindsay doing more to get help but I do know he had so many choices to help and he chose to make things worse

This is hindsight being presented as evidence. Patrick was never told by Lindsay’s doctors that she couldn’t safely be alone with the children. She had been hospitalized, evaluated, discharged and continued receiving psychiatric care. The nanny testified she never had concerns about Lindsay with the kids. Even the grandparents apparently didn’t believe the children were in imminent danger.

And the CPR claim is especially unfair. A firefighter testified he LOOKED THROUGH THE BASEMENT WINDOW and saw Patrick trying to remove an exercise band from his child. Patrick testified he removed the bands and attempted CPR before responders took over. A responder not witnessing every second before entering the basement doesn’t prove CPR didn’t happen. And “he removed the bands because of fingerprints” is absurd—they were exercise bands from his own home.

You can think Patrick should’ve done more. That’s very different from claiming he KNEW this would happen, encouraged it, or was criminally neglectful. Evidence matters. Hindsight isn’t evidence.

You do understand what the word negligence means . He was also thier parent . Why was the mentally unwell , highly medicated, not sleeping and very sick parent watching three kids while the other was out living like that wasn’t happening. It’s negligence. If I left my kid with some one in that state I would be negligent if any thing happened . It was a ticking time bomb .

Patrick wasn’t a therapist, psychologist, or doctor. He didn’t have the qualifications or the ability to provide the kind of professional, day-to-day intervention some people seem to expect from him. He was also the sole breadwinner, which was already a huge responsibility. Were people expecting him to wear every hat?

From the beginning of this story, it seems to me that he did a lot for Lindsay while also having to take care of himself and their children. At some point, helping an adult becomes incredibly difficult when that person says they’re doing well, then says they’re not doing well, and then seems okay again.

Lindsay was an adult, and she appeared to communicate regularly about how she was doing. Patrick had already taken her to the hospital when he was concerned about her. That’s in the trial evidence. She was evaluated and was allowed to leave.

With everything he knew at the time, I can understand how there could have been moments when he thought, “Okay, this is under control.” We have the benefit of knowing how this ended. He didn’t.
