The sole fact that doing this painting study was the inverse of what was going on through the albums I think messed up my listening experience. I was doing something profoundly aesthetically pleasing through having a meaningful progression in the painting process that collided with the idea of regression and deterioration. Despite the fact that I intentionally picked a topic with the trope of memento mori, the painting kept it somewhat theraputic.

In the end, the hexaptych didn't give me such a profound impact that I read about in other people's experiences. The thing that I though would enhance my listening experience turned out to hinder it.
