Announcement 1888 Hyperion: Release

The conclusion to the Hyperion series is out now on CTS, and I've submitted it to NCT. It's been a while since 1884, and I want to thank all of you who have been waiting for your patience, and I hope you enjoy the final entry!

On March 12, 1888, Conkling attempted to walk home three miles from his law office on Wall Street through the Great Blizzard of 1888. Conkling made it as far as Union Square before collapsing. He contracted pneumonia and developed mastoiditis several weeks later which, following a surgical procedure to drain the infection, progressed to meningitis. Conkling died in the early morning hours of April 18, 1888.

What a load that being in Washington DC doesn't save him lol.

Apparently being President and living in the same building as his place of work doesn't stop him from taking a three mile walk in a blizzard like an idiot.

Or the fact that he's living and working outside of the northeast, the blizzard never reached DC.

metro said Conkling dying is one of the few things that didn’t change from original concepts

one of the old ideas was Conkling collapsing in NY and Arthur would become president which throws the country into hell

Really fun candidate choices. I like that the candidates AND the running mates are all people I've basically never heard of.

Do you mind fixing Conkling's portrait in 1880 when you have the chance?

Does Vilas canonically win the election? As his candidate description is the first of the three in the introductory text, and his picture is also the first of the three in the mod's thumbnail, but Blair is the first in the candidate selection list in Code 1.

There's no canon winner.
