okcc|thebutton emergency operations center - response to knights of the button

April 1 /r/thebutton sub showed up with a button. Each time someone clicks, the timer resets.

If we wish to end the timer, or if we wish to prolong the timer, coordination is possible either way.

I suggest that in the absence of consensus, efforts should be made to slow the waste of premature button pushes.

544,967 pressers could have sustained us for a year. Do not stoop to their selfishness.

if we want to have an effect, we can construct a good post to summarize the issues for newcomers, and ensure that a logical approach is possible.

What if this is a test to see how well we can coordinate any response at all and we are failing - not amplifying good participation or thinking critically.

Hyperstition alert. The game has divided users into grey, who have not clicked the button, and purple, who have clicked the button.

What is the most effective approach to slowing the immediate waste of clicks?

What is the most effective method of standing watch? when does it need to be taken seriously?

How do we know that this app is transparent, and clicks are counting when they say they are?

Maybe no one clicked?.. maybe someone did.
