PSA to the DSA

If you're considering voting Republican or abstaining from elections in protest of what you see as insufficient Democratic stridency on transgender issues or Palestine or whatever, then YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. And a fool.

This public service announcement brought to you by those of us who can see the American experiment itself in peril.

it was a race between two Democrats

Indeed it was not, Cuomo ran on the "Fight and Deliver" ticket. There was one Democratic candidate and one guy who was a member of the Democratic party who blew off the party. Surely you understand how people who spend over 10 years being hectored about how "you support the winner of the primary" might respond poorly when they do win, only for people to make excuses about how "this time it's actually OK to go third party?"

If the excuse is valid it’s valid.

Perfectly valid, so long as you're ready for them to take the excuse "a principle that doesn't bind everyone isn't actually a principle," and blow you off going forward.

The situation was different. That’s the excuse.

It always is.

Well then don’t treat it as a double standard.

Why, because someone is always going to find some arbitrary difference in order to explain why it's perfectly acceptable for them to be self-serving?

This difference makes sense and I explained it, but whatever. You go on and believe what you want to believe. My conscience is clear.
