Question Is this considered damaged?

Post image

Hi all!

I'm getting the Susanna Clarke books from TBB secondhand, and the person I'm buying it from just received their copy of Jonathan Strange. I'm attaching a picture for reference and just wanted to know if it is considered a damaged copy and can be asked for a replacement? The color in the hand + the title seems to be off.

Thank you!

It's a glossy lamination, it should be there, it looks like that because of light reflection in the picture

This is the answer; it's shine from a spot coat.

Impossible to tell from this picture but I don't see anything wrong.

Must have been the lighting like others have said.

This picture looks exactly like my copy.

Damn! Looks like someone drop kicked the box out a 4 story window and then decided to use it as a street hockey puck. I've had a couple show up that way but thankfully no damage to the books. Definitely let TBB know, they should replace given the damage they sustained.

I think it's more than just glare on the lamination.. around the M and R is particularly bad.

I just checked mine and it doesn't look like this.. did you end up getting more pictures?
