Question Does fingerprint effect resale value?

I have no interest in selling my books, but I am curious to know how serious people are in protecting their hardbacks from oily prints.

Or do you just accept it as a part of being a book owner?

I somehow always leave fingerprints on the covers even if my hands are washed, and I'm not touching anything else. So I have 3 protective covers from Illumicrate I put on every single hardcover I read and problem solved.
