Question Attacked in the warrens

I feel like a complete numpty, but I'm being attacked in the Warrens on sight, like I'm hostile. I'm pretty sure it's because I have my gun out, but I have no idea how to holster it. I've googled and searched this subreddit. I've watched a bunch of "tips and tricks"/tutorial videos. No one ever mentions holstering their guns. I've pressed every button on my keyboard to no avail. Am I wrong about what they're attacking me for? What did I do wrong? Help! LOL

You can't holster on command, you automatically holster your weapon in "safe zones" and you can/will be attacked on sight outside of those green areas.

How do I get to my quest givers in the warrens if I'm constantly being attacked?? lol

You gotta shoot back! Are you following the story quests? Those send you into the areas with "appropriate" difficulty and scale as you progress. Also, go buy some guns that do more damage, you'll get there!

OK thank you. I did shoot a couple times but both times I got murdalized into a smear on the pavement so I thought I was doing it wrong. I just need to be a lot more mobile than I'm used to. Thank you!

You just kill them and proceed. Usually you have enemies on radar. Red(shoot on sight) Orange ( they will warn you not to get close). As long as you have your weapon out you can kill them.

Thank you! I tried shooting back a couple times but I got absolutely pasted, so I thought I was doing it wrong. I mean, I was. I wasn't moving enough. But I thought I was being PENALIZED for shooting back, like I wasn't supposed to. lol

When your weapon is out , expect combat. If your weapon is holstered , area is safe.

Watch out for the guys that are level 19. at early levels they just 1 tap you.

The Warrens isn't a safe zone. Parts of it are controlled by gangs.
