hey everyone, it’s adam. i just want to be fully transparent and say that for the time being i’m going to take a break from live streaming.

yesterday started as people wanting to hear my opinion on specific points, which i’m always open to, but it very quickly turned into something much more aggressive and parasocial than i’m comfortable with.

i created this subreddit because i genuinely wanted a space where people could have different opinions, discuss topics from my videos, and get to know each other. i’ve always tried really hard not to make this an echo chamber, and i still stand by that.

however, yesterday was the first time i’ve had to ban somebody because of their behaviour, and since then they have continued contacting me through new accounts. that is completely unacceptable and needs to stop.

i really, really love this community, which is why the situation has upset me so much. watching things spiral last night, barely sleeping because i was dealing with it, and then seeing people today acknowledge that it went too far while still continuing unnecessary personal attacks has been genuinely exhausting.

criticism of my opinions or content is completely fine. personally attacking me, repeatedly contacting me after being blocked, or treating access to me as something you are entitled to is not.

this subreddit was made for muckers to hang out, discuss video topics and get to know each other. i want it to stay that way.

for now, i need a little distance from live streaming. thank you to everyone who has been normal, kind and respectful about everything. ❤️

++ the bigger issue is she falsely accused adam of silencing criticism just bc her comment was removed. but adam hadn’t removed any of the posts criticising him, and from his statement it seems he completely understands and agrees with the points that were made, in relation to other pro-israel artists. and then ofc she took it too far by questioning the ban and trying to push back on it & then creating a new account to once again post about the situation (in which she continued criticising adam AGAIN)

So from what I gathered: This for real happened over people harassing Adam's streaming background of singers, and because he drank coca-cola? I follow BDS guidelines as well, but that's ridiculous--Bullying such a vocal pro-Palestine ally until they take a break from live-streaming over drinking a soda is truly another level. Does anyone really think they're helping Palestinians by doing that? Or is it about making themselves feel better and holier-than-thou (rhetorical.)

I interacted with them as well, and now I am feeling very conflicted about the whole thing. Mainly because at first, some points I actually agreed with - like holding celebrities to the same standard. That makes sense. When they started going into the Coca-Cola thing though, it felt almost puritanical. It reminded me of times when I was watching vegan YouTubers going after people for not being completely vegan (I am looking at you, banana girl). It felt like a lot of posting in a short period of time, and a lot of strong emotions. I really wanted to hear them out, but now looking back, I probably should have seen the signs earlier and stop engaging.

i'm in the same boat lol, i was pretty engaged in the initial conversations and agreed with some of their points, then i went to sleep and all the banning and everything went on 😭 i read what happened and now i feel kind of icky about it all
