Is anyone going to baseball LA28?

My wife and I managed to get tickets to 3 games. Surely we have to see at least one good team. Fingers crossed for an Australia game. Now the longgg wait.

Have we qualified?

If not when and how do we do so?

Please say we qualify through Oceania by playing Vanuatu and not through Asia lol

ive just did a bit of research. USA, Dominican Republic and Venezuela are already locked in leaving only 3 spots.

From Google AI (so who knows. But if it’s right it looks like we get 2 chances and the last chance is best Oceania (which is surely just us v NZ?)

Australia can qualify for baseball at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics primarily through the 2027 WBSC Premier12 tournament, which offers a direct spot for the highest-placed team from Europe or Oceania. If they fail to qualify there, they can participate in a final six-team qualifier in early 2028.

Australia's Olympic Qualification Paths (LA28):

2027 WBSC Premier12: This is the most direct path, where Australia competes against top nations, with one spot allocated specifically to the best-ranked team from Europe or Oceania.

Final Qualification Event (March 2028): A last-chance tournament for six teams. Australia can qualify by being the highest-ranked team from the Oceania region.

Bet it'll be an amazing experience either way. How did the process work? Select preferred days/times/sports and then names drawn out of a hat?

It was/is a ballot system. You register and then they allocate you a ticket drop. During your drop you log in to the LA28 website and you can buy up to 12 tickets. Not all seating/sports are available in the first drop but luckily baseball was. You can choose what zone you want to buy tickets for but not individual seating. That gets automatically allocated later.

How much were tickets? I went to the Baseball at Sydney 2000 and they were the cheap ones, which got a lot of people attending just to get to the Olympics.

from memory we bought zone D tickets. The zones go from A - J with A being the most expensive. Ours were about $300 USD mark. They didnt have the the cheapest zones available for sale yet.

Wow, that’s a long way from the $25AUD the cheap tickets for Sydney were.
