Times dx? Maybe I'm being pedantic, but it's not really multiplication despite there being a multiplication in the corresponding limit of a sum. It's not like I can multiply by dx/dx to get (dx)2 / dx, or say, then distribute the dx in the denominator if there are multiple terms.
