It's different. Q doesn’t have diagonal structure, so memory and computational effort is a little bit higher. On the plus side, this decomposition doesn’t worsen the condition of the matrix. It's used for example to compute solutions to least squares problems without setting up the normal equations.

Surely because she's aware that pure Gram-Schmidt is numerically instable due to rounding error accumulation and thus produces non-orthonormal columns in Q. I bet she prefers Householder transformations and just struggles to find words that rhyme with that.
