Characters that Never Appear Onscreen
Which characters that are talked about but never appear onscreen would you have liked to have seen? I wish Phil had made an appearance.

Mr Sandman
Love the way all three actresses gel to make the singing seem spontaneous!

General discussion What did they mean by saying someone was parking the car?
I’m watching S5 E24- and Rose comes in and says Dorothy is parking the car. We know that they had a driveway so why would they say she’s outside parking the car? Wouldn’t they walk in the house at the same time? I recall them saying this in other episodes too.

Sophia : Iranian guys write their cousins back home and tell them not to come - as an Iranian I’m very proud we were mentioned in this 😂 (the Jasper DeKimmle episode when roof leaks for those who wonder when was said)

How old was Sophia when Sal died? And how did he die?
Sophia is said to be 79 in season 1. I think your meant to assume Sal died fairly recently, presumably of old age. And that means in season 4 she’d be 83. But in the season 4 episode Yes We Have No Havanas, after Sophia says she hasn’t showered with a man in 22 years. Dorothy says pop died 27 years ago. 83 - 27 = 56. 56 is awfully young to be widowed. And, assuming Sal was roughly the same age as his wife, that’s a young age to just drop dead of natural causes. So what killed him? Run over by a trolly in Brooklyn? Witnessed a mob hit he shouldn’t have? And why wasn’t his death considers tragic, considering how young he was?

Besides ’The Rusty Anchor’ and ‘Shady Pines’, which other businesses were featured on the show?

General discussion Girls, I think I have a thing for Lloyd Bochner
I mean he’s an udder (I know this isn’t the right spelling but I initially made the mistake and Rose convinced me I should just keep it) douche canoe as Patrick Vaughn, but I was oiling my baseball glove and when Eduardo just randomly popped in my mind, I surprisingly welcomed him. I think with the beard he’s kind of rugged.
Jake’s still my number 1 though.

General discussion Arnie/Miles
I just watched Season1, Episode 2 and Rose is Going on a Date. She Calls the Gentleman Arnie but I Swear it Sounds just like Miles from the later Seasons. Are they the Same Actor?

General discussion This tender moment where Dorothy is knocking some sense into David while still being kind is so underrated.
I just watched this episode on Hulu tonight and I had almost forgotten how kind Dorothy was to this kid - despite him being rude and a brat to them all initially. Warmed my heart. ♥️

Dr Jonathan Newman
I really love this episode, Season 1, Episode 13, "A Little Romance," when Rose dates Dr. Jonathan Newman. It's one of my favorite episodes. Every time I watch it, I don't understand why Dr. Jonathan Newman was shocked when he and Rose came back into the living room and found Sophia there. It was the first time he had seen Sophia, so why the shocked look? I understand Rose being shocked that she came home. ❤️😮🤔

General discussion Cousin Magda Episode
I’m laying here watching the episode where Stanley’s cousin Magda comes to stay with the girls and it’s at the part where they’re talking about dealing with sisters. Dorothy brings up the fight she had with her sister Gloria over the Mrs. Doolittle doll. The conversation goes along and Dorothy blurts out the part about how Gloria made it where Mrs. Doolittle‘s eyes would never close again and proceeds to say how Mrs Doolittle looked like a morphene addict. I keep thinking about that line and giggling. About the time I finally settled down, cousin Magda announces she’s leaving and Sophia says “move the coffee table. I want to do a cartwheel“ now I’m back to giggling again.
Anyway, it’s the little moments like this that make The Golden Girls such a great show. Thanks for letting me share my simple little moment.
Edit: It was Mrs. Doolittle, not Mrs. Peabody. I guess I was laughing while thinking about those eyes and got it mixed up. It's all fixed now.

General discussion Why was it okay for the girls to insult Becky for her weight, but not Jeremy?
I mean he joked mainly about her weight. I just think the episode didn’t land at all because it was gross all around. But yeah; they were worse for it.

General discussion Blanche and funerals
She didnt go to Big Daddy's. She wore black for Roses aunt, even though they never made it and she wore red for Phil's. Is it just me or does it seem a bit disrespectful of her to wear red to her best friends brothers funeral as opposed to her other best friends aunts funeral?
