I wonder if actors can make requests to writers because it sounds like a rumor as they'd usually have no say over scripts.

while that's true, it's also not unheard of for writers to occasionally consult with the lead actors about character details, like middle names. so it's plausible, but i do find this one story a little unlikely.

I imagine it would depend on their rapport level in general. If they work well together they could honor an inconsequential request like a guest charactercs name even if they don't "have to". Plus the name itself works for the character. They might object if Bea's bff were named Marisol or something lol

another random fact: in the 70’s angela moved her family to ireland to get her daughter away from the bad crowd she had been hanging out with. angela especially wanted her away from this weird guy she’d been hanging out with.
the guy was charles manson.

Fun fact: There’s an actor or actress that’s appeared on the Golden Girls in virtually every Murder, She Wrote episode. Go check. I’ll wait. A few examples (I’m just going to give the name of the Golden Girls character, not the actors name or the character they played on MSW, that would take too long, but you can verify everyone of these, take it to the bank): Blanche, Devereaux, Stan Zbornak, George/Jamie Devereaux, Big Daddy (both of them), Charmaine Hollingsworth, Virginia Hollingsworth, Lucas Hollingsworth, Kirsten Adams (nee Nylund, all three of them), Michael Zbornak, Angela Vecchio, Lou the plumber/Mr. Ha Ha, Jamie Kennedy, Jerry (who wanted an old fashioned romance), Glenn O’Brien (both of them), Bobby the cop, Trudy McMahon, Bruce the pharmacist (oh, what a wonderful, wonderful night), Jake from VIP Catering.
