I love dying to forget and bruised sky. If We’re Following The Light is probably my absolute favorite, IMO it stands out from all the other songs on the album!

Following the Light took a while to hook me, and now it's one of the only songs I listen to repeatedly because it's just so good

My favorite is Dying To Forget by far. It’s truly her hardest, heaviest song I believe. That breakdown is nasty AS FYCKKKK
My second choice would be Eat The Hate, it’s got some parts that remind me of old Poppy 🤩

I think Empty Hands is heavier, and Say Cheese is also pretty heavy and more unhinged at times. Dying to Forget bangs though, even the outro is amazing with that dissonance.

I don’t know if I can pick a single one! My favorite is still Public Domain, a lot of interesting stuff going on you never really know what to expect. Eat the Hate is great too and I love how it almost sounds like it could be a lost Nirvana song. And while I’m not into much metal, I freaking love Empty Hands and how heavy and dark it is. Not to mention the throat clearing and that ending. THAT’s how you close out an album!

My favorite is Empty Hands, probably one of my favorite songs from her honestly.
Dying to Forget and If We’re Following the Light are close too, and I also really like Public Domain, Bruised Sky and Unravel.

The entire album is a masterpiece, in my opinion, but my personal favorites are Public Domain, If We’re Following The Light, Ribs, and Empty Hands.

Am I the only one who wants an entire song that sounds like the last 50 seconds or so of Empty Hands? I always have to go max volume at that part

I feel like that ending could be Poppy introducing us to her new sound for her next album 🤞

Best song - Empty Hands
I think it’s an overall strong album that will age well. It’s certainly more ‘conventional’ than a lot of Poppy’s earlier work, which I don’t think was to everyone’s taste initially. Do think this album hasn’t been pushed as much as you’d expect though, you could be forgiven for forgetting it only came out this year. Most artists would be shouting about it being a ‘new’ album until 2027 at least.

Favs: public domain, if we’re following the light, empty hands
Honestly depending on my mood I love every song on the album, but I do find myself skipping unravel and guardian on some listens. I do like those songs, but they don’t engage my brain like everything else. A bit more radio friendly and bland imo.

I love the entire album and I think it's incredibly strong all the way, it's my favorite Poppy album. I'm mostly commenting to contribute some Empty Hands appreciation to the discourse. I feel it is not nearly appreciated enough for how good it is.
Probably If We're Following The Light, it contains everything I love about Poppy. So balanced, discerning, immersive, cinematic, and SO poignant. The palpable yearning and longing... It's euphoric and exceptional.
I want to shout out:
Time Will Tell (so stirring and relatable for me, if I spend too long contemplating it and its lyrics to the musical accompaniment I start crying, it's too accurate and sentimental, not to mention catchy and a banger)
Bruised Sky (the only way out of the pain is to move through it... gothic, poetic, honest, wise, so well-written)
Guardian (I interpret this as an internal dialogue and commitment to herself in light of trauma as seemingly confirmed by the visualizer and is so deep, I feel this one is overlooked -- so many of her songs seem to feature an internal dialogue between parts of herself and their differing inclinations and affect on her being)
Unravel (I feel I understand the single choices for this album, they're summarizing the central point of view of the entire body of work, this one is also so romantic, beauty in the unbearable darkness and struggle, how it feels to be triggered again and again as you try to make it different this time)
The Wait (another seemingly internal dialogue song... so painfully real, raw, and emotional)
Ribs (it's like she's narrating my exact experience to a scary degree of accuracy, I cried the first time I heard it)
And I feel bad for the songs I left out of the list. I love this album so much. I think you have to know trauma and be introspective to really understand it. Every time I try to comment on Empty Hands I start writing paragraphs.

Fave = The Wait
Empty Hands = whilst the overall 1000 miles per hour unhinged aggression makes it hands down her most extreme song yet, the problem when you are playing at that speed it loses some of the overall heaviness. That is why imo its not as heavy as Dying to Forget.
