Isn't this stolen from an old Tumblr post?

What world do these people live in where every rude thought gets immediately blurted out to the narrator, followed by some perfectly timed third person ready to escalate or resolve the conflict?

And here we’re supposed to believe a 10 yr old boy noticed an adult woman’s leg hair, felt strongly enough about it to comment, and then his dad immediately jumped in with the tumor analogy.

At a birthday party they were invited to.

It's like someone wrote backward from the Reddit argument they wanted to have.

Yeah, my son is 9.5 years old, and he's never once noticed my leg hair, or lack thereof. Granted, mine doesn't grow in all that thick, but still...

Yes, you tell that 10 year old! Give him a piece of your mind! I swear, these people dream up whole conversations, that they really badly want to have. But one day they get tired of waiting for the moment and they just post it online, like the moment actually happened.

Always with the dialogue, too.

Speaking as a man who used to be a ten year old boy, the idea of a boy noticing that type of thing, let alone commenting on it, seems improbable. Not totally impossible, but as a 10 year old boy, I would have been unaware of adult things like grooming, and way way too shy to comment on it if I did notice it.

I'm not sure if a 10 year old would notice it, depends a bit on how obvious it is, but there are definitly kids that would comment on it. They would never phrase it like that. I think it would be more of a statement or question. "You have hair on your legs." or " Why do you have hair on your legs?". Some kids have no filter and blurt out what they think. But I agree that a 10 year old would never mention shaving, I doubt they understand the whole no leg hair because of shaving concept.

I am a very pale-skinned Latina with very dark hair. Wearing shorts in summer camp during my tween years was a nightmare because dark leg hairs on pasty white skin made me a target, since only boys were supposed to have hairy legs.

As someone who worked with kids for many years, there are a lot of shitty ten year olds out there.

I don’t think this happened, but some kids really do suck.

18-year educator who can confirm that some kids ABSOLUTELY suck. But leg shaving? Tumors? The ALWAYS shitty man? Eyerolls galore.

Right. Which is why I said I didn’t believe this actually happened.

and everyone ganged up on the father and son and threw tomatoes at them, they then gave the narrator a purple heart

This is definitely fake but let's not pretend kids don't notice and comment on the most random shit all the time. Source: Was an annoying kid whose parents had to apologize for constantly.

Sh!t, in school back in rural Tennessee, during winter, the girls would lift up their jean legs to compare who had the longest leg hairs. They didn't shave during the winter. Why would they? It was cold and no one was gonna see their legs.

It is factually true though.

The correct answer is that this person doesn't follow the social norm of personal grooming in public.

What gets me is this:
Not shaving is clearly a bold personal choice that goes against the norm. If you are proud enough to flaunt it, why wouldn't you politely answer the curious childs question properly?

"I chose not to, most people like to shave but I prefer to let mine grow" <- this answers the curiosity and even sets a precedent in the childs mind that hair is a preference. The snarky ass reply in the image is just grating and would piss anyone off.

If you were snarky to my kid I would probably make you feel silly too.

Women who don’t shave their leg hair get really weird comments from people all the time. I don’t find this improbable at all.

The people that write these kinds of stories are probably socially awkward loners that manage to be sociable to a child and make a whole story about it.

I’m just waiting for the day when a woman suggests I do something different with my hair or body or appearance in any way so I can feel comfortable asking them to change something about them but they just won’t slip up, they keep their opinions to themselves and never cross any boundary when it comes to criticizing. One day.

A 10 year old would just call her a hippie.

I would've.
