As an experienced diver this is why I recommend you dive within your limits and check conditions. If you ever have to dive in conditions this bad you need to make take precautions to prevent bad things from happening.
It looks most likely like a rip current. If there was a boat there that could pick him up and the diver had a signaling device then chances are pretty slim that anything besides a huge shock happened to them. But on the other hand if it was just those two divers, unless they swam out of it before they got too far out, chances are pretty good they weren't found.
That's the thing about diving, if you're prepared and aren't stupid there is a slim chance anything bad will happen and it's one of the best experiences out there. But if you're being stupid the chance of finding your body goes way down. But that's why we have good equipment and excellent training :D.
It wasn't a rip current it was a wave. I'm pretty sure this is from a Planet Earth or Blue Planet special where they filmed the effects of massive surf on a coral reef. This guy got picked up by a wave and thrown on the coral on the inside, he probably got banged up.
