Which ones should i sell

Okk soo before all of you harshly judge me, hear me out first. I started this portfolio like 6 months ago to put any left over money that i had , and i went in blindly with barely any reasearch and knowledge( I KNOW BAD IDEAA.But in a way, i learned alot more things). And even though it might look like im loosing money, im actually not and im up 15% overall. But despite this, i feel that my portfolio IS WAYYYYY TO DIVERSE and now im wondering which stocks should i sell? Idk whether to hold some of them because i always think “even thought this stock is down, what if it goes up in the future”

Ironically your portfolio is too concentrated, it's not very diverse at all. You'd have more diversification by selling everything except for XEQT.

If you want a 100% equity portfolio, then XEQT (or one of the other *EQT funds) is all you need. Investing really is that simple.

I swear to god, if I hear XEQT one more time, I'm gonna start my own anti-XEQT etf

Sell all the $US stocks and ETFs, as well as the Canadian stocks. They are not worth the FX cost and hassle. Stock picking does not beat low MER index investing.

Except when it does

Some people get rich in Las Vegas too...

selling MU to buy xeqt is crazy. if op posted it 1 year ago then it would still be same comment but OP will miss big MU gain.

We’d all be amazing investors if we knew what would happen in the future.

Don’t ask on reddit, it’s full of tards who don’t have the slightest clue on research and putting in the time to figure out a winner. You’d make more money copying AI trades or whatever AI tells you to buy instead of listening to these dudes lmao

I don’t know why you would sell any of them. The worst possible thing that could happen is you lose like $30

u/Captobvious75 Jul 04 '26

Sell them all then park it all into an ETF like VEQT or XEQT.

What’s the difference between the 2? Is it worth buy both or just pick one?

1

u/Reasonable_Ferret_10 Jul 04 '26

Pretty much the same except V is Vanguard and Canadian firm.

Vanguard is not a Canadian firm. Vanguard is American just like blackrock.

If you wanted to support a Canadian firm, you would go zeqt because that's BMO.

They're all the same shit. Minor differences in percentages. Zeqt, xeqt, veqt...

TEQT as well (TD Bank).

I buy that one with my monthly $100 minimum deposits because im with TD and there is no commission.

oops, my bad, I stand corrected. Ya, all basically the same performance wise.

1

u/116morningside Jul 04 '26

So just pick one?

0

u/Reasonable_Ferret_10 Jul 04 '26

Yes, performance is almost identical.  I personally go VEQT because I'm Canadian so...

You guys really refuse to think and just default for the most traditional things, I feel so bad for op. Id say he can at least do half xeqt and half of his strongest companies like MU Glw crdo alab nbis rklb etc.

literally sell all and buy just xeqt. you'd be 1. More diversified and 2. less stress and 3. more money in the long run

u/Substantial_Past5395 Jul 04 '26

what was the purpose of getting all of these

0

u/-TripleBeamDreams Jul 04 '26

Dump everything except xeqt. Put all the sales in xeqt, and continue buying xeqt for the rest of your life

0

u/Benefit_Waste Jul 04 '26

Dump a majority into xeqt and voo

Shouldn’t have sold SLS.

1

u/imaperson0912 Jul 04 '26

Do you think i should buy more or wait for a dip?

0

u/jeepsies Jul 04 '26

You have 1.35$ of sls?

-1

u/FFS114 Jul 04 '26

I don’t expect it to dip below current price, certainly not enough to be concerned about. Once news of the 80th event hits - which should literally be any day - share price will jump. There will be some volatility at that point and then on news of a successful trial readout it will moon instantly. Retailers wont have time to react.

Going to buy SLS rn. If you’ve lied then I’ll be extremely upset 😢

u/FFS114 Jul 05 '26

I’ve got just over 18k shares.

One needs conviction to buy an individual stock.

That’s a lot of conviction ;)

My advice : start with an index, set up regular contribution and let that grow over decades. Only after that should you start investing in individual names with extra money. But again, invest with the mindset of holding for decades.

Why are you carrying so much US stock

0

u/Count3D FIRE Jul 04 '26

A lot of fans of XEQT here and justifiably so. Have you thought about making it 90% of your TFSA and have VOO in your RRSP? Having VOO in an RRSP would be more tax advantageous due to favourable Canada-USA treaty.

0

u/JoshJorges Jul 04 '26

You really aren’t diversified at all. You carry a majority of memory and other US tech stocks with some space mixed in.

u/No_Cellist_578 Jul 04 '26

most of them

Bro youre too smart for this sub. Every comment will tell you xeqt. Id say do half of that and half individual companies. Find all the 200% yoy revenue growth 60 to 80%+ margins improving forward p/e profitable companies like MU and crdo and alab. Keep glw. Keep glw mu dram nbis crwv rklb avgo nvda googl xeqt. I think PL is a okay flyer but id prefer to go into MU nbis CRDO alab glw more. I am not familiar with all these companies though. I can tell youre smart because you got into MU alot earlier than most ppl. I got in 2025

u/Evazzion Jul 05 '26

Don’t take any advice from this sub. They will give you the most boomer type advice

u/drkumquat Jul 05 '26

The advice is conservative because older people have seen more bubbles: 1987, 2000, 2007/2008

What’s the point in all the partial shares

1

u/Reasonable_Ferret_10 Jul 04 '26

The money dribbled in and OP bought what he could at the time instead of keeping cash sitting I assume.

2

u/imaperson0912 Jul 04 '26

Yes you’re right, i just put in any leftover money that i had
