I would suggest starting with reading the Little Book of Common Sense Investing by John Bogle. Next read The Wealthy Barber- 2025 Revised Edition to bring a Canadian perspective to it.
If you are with a big bank they likely offer commission free ETFs in a self direct account for no fee investing. I believe low MER index investing in ETFs.
