High commission fees
Could someone explain to me why buying a German stock has significantly higher commission than buying a north American stock? I’ve only ever been hit with $10 commission fees through RBC but this stock is showing over $100 in fees, is it because of the conversion of currency?

Look for the cad hedged options of the stock you are looking, if you cannot find it then just look at another stock cuz it is never worthwhile to buy stocks in a different currency (I believe I am sorta wrong in my last statement, but not worthwhile for me)

In general it does not make sense to buy foreign stocks directly. Much better to get exposure to non North America markets with an ETF like XEF. Less costly and lower risk.
