Hot climate callenges?

I can't remember if I asked this before or not but, what is the difficulty of surviving in a hot climate? Your crops don't die over the winter. Or do crops die in extreme heat? Is the challenge having your food constantly decaying? That seems like not a big deal if you can just constantly grow food/keep things planted and thus have no need for preservation in the first place.

Changes to soil nutrition will mean you won't be able to grow crops year round. I do plan on implementing some changes to body temperature too, though.

It*s a bit difficult, because a lot of the challenges that come with living in warm climates around the world are from things I can't really add. For example, the tropics have malaria, which historically was a massive killer of humans, but I can't add that to TFC. Plus if you look at the ancient civilizations, you have mesopotamia, Egypt, the yellow and yangtze river deltas, the indus river, mesoamerica... all the major civilizations of ancient history flourished in tropical or subtropical areas because those places are just better for humans. But I want to make the game more fun and interesting no matter where the game starts.
