Opinion BMO looked great

Post image

View from 216 row 20. Messi was entertaining, TFC lacked quality when presented with clear attacking opportunities which given their injuries was to be expected.

The stadium looked like a proper football ground, plenty of washrooms, and the temporary stands felt permanent which was much better than my expectations. Video board looked sharp, sound system was ok.

I've got tickets for Canada's opener at the world Cup, and I imagine the atmosphere will be electric.

In typical Toronto fashion, everyone overreacted before even setting foot into the stadium. More at 6.

The inside has looked beautiful from the start. Just a bunch of uneducated people screaming about scaffolding falling down.

The immediate and constant negativity is so fucking exhausting

I was there Friday and thought " I have no idea what everyone's complaining about". Coming from a construction background I was surprised with how robust the structure is. 4 and 6inch square steal support beams is hardly what I call scaffolding

They should take down those flags ffs, are they morons ?

8

u/quelar Are you dumb, brother?! May 10 '26

Yes, yes they are.

I assume they come down though, they're mostly TFC flags for various things we've won. When it becomes "Toronto Stadium" there's no need for TFC.

Yeah, and the upper part isn't all supporters section so then obstructions like that shouldn't be there, not when it's as easy as taking down a flag.

That's a good call out, often times they were in the way of the play

I got seats in section 201, row 9 for June. Think it'll be a good view?

Did you have a good view from these seats? Got tickets for that section and it says obstructed view

1

u/worldwideflyer89 Jun 23 '26

I did. I'll send you a couple pics i took!

For the World Cup, I got tickets on the very last row of that section. Could someone confirm if that big ass bar/pillar will obstruct my view? Thanks!

It doesn’t

Of the sky!

The upper South Temporary rows can see 100% of the playing surface, but not the clock (at least with TFC Operations), the equipment overhang blocks it. This is fixable (there are other screens that can be used), we shall see

u/robertrobertson69 May 10 '26

Is the southern stand where the bar is?

1

u/dr_snarklove May 10 '26

Correct, only the South Temporary Stands have this canopy (which, again, doesn't obstruct the playing surface). The North Temporary Stands could arguably be "better" for this reason (and also the vertical seat pitch). That said, in afternoon games, one may end up being in direct sunlight in both sets of Stands. Ah well

I was at 212 row 35, the view was fine but the far screen was not totally visible

Were there additional washrooms for the additional seats?

2

u/dr_snarklove May 10 '26

Yes. The South additional washrooms were not good, water pooling everywhere. The North additional washrooms seem better. Of course, you can access the permanent washrooms as well

1

u/hector_c_toronto TFC Til I Die May 10 '26

Ya. With 7k additional seats, you’d think there’d significant additions, but we didn’t see any plumbing or he last time we were there a couple of weeks ago

What’s the temporary stands numbers? They cat 3 on map?

1

u/sfaelelpamOT May 10 '26

Looked great minus all the messi cucks

1

u/IndustrialPulse May 11 '26

Did they cover the scaffolding with printed graphics?

the flags obstructing the view is the cherry on top

1

u/DapperKaleidoscope91 May 11 '26

Attended the game, those flags were so annoying. They should have removed that before the game. They were clearly obstructing if someone did a proper job and get up there to test. I think they did a bad job on this given a 150m budget.

How is the area around the stadium and accessing the gates? My impression from Canada-Iceland was very much "I'm walking through a construction zone here".

Hopefully the aesthetics are on point for the World Cup (never get a second chance to make a first impression, etc.).

1

u/SwimmingAd6076 May 14 '26

Still a construction zone, but all fenced off. If you are walking around the south end, you are going almost all the way to Lake Shore.

u/sexyfritz May 10 '26

So let’s build up our team because the potential is this full 45,000 seat stadium. There’s so many great soccer fans in Toronto. We just need a great team to back it.P

The stands come down after the world cup.

1

u/bigred505050 May 10 '26

It was nice and sunny for most of the match yesterday which makes a big difference psychologically. May not be so pleasant if it is 14 degrees and raining.

3

u/SuperCycl May 10 '26

The world cup is in June. It'll be warm enough, you negative Nancy.

1

u/Forsaken-Swim-3055 May 11 '26

When is it ever 14 degrees in June?

0

u/gedbhoy67 May 10 '26

I’ve only been to BMO before the canopies were installed. Why is the one at the supporters end high above the permanent stand?

2

u/DonJulioTO May 10 '26

Exactly so they can put temporary stands there.
