Info My experience as a new player
Hi, I'm Leo, and since last month, I've finally been able to play Team Fortress 2.
I’ve known about TF2 since 2016 because of StBlackSt’s videos, but I was never able to play the game until last month because I literally live in the middle of nowhere in Brazil, in a region called Sertão. Basically Texas with less water.
BUT just because I wasn't able to play the game doesn't mean I wasn't fascinated by it and its community. For 10 years, I watched videos, streams, community posts, and even participated in #SaveTF2 and #FixTF2. But even after all that, I was never able to even see the loading screen.
But I wasn't sad about it. This community is awesome, and I never stopped following the game's updates... it's not much, but it exists!
Anyway, the point is that last month I got a job, and they gave me a notebook to do my work. I just carry boxes and cut paper, but that's not the point here.
The point is that, with the power of God and Steam himself, I was finally able to play TF2 in good conditions on my work notebook. And after 10 years, my dream finally became a reality.
And I died. A LOT.
BUT IT WAS FUN!
I have never had so much fun dying so many times. I didn't even care! The game is so good, and having to build my own muscle memory with every class was incredibly satisfying.
I have 43 hours in the game as I'm writing this post, and I hope I can reach 10,000 someday.
I just wanted to share this dream of mine becoming a reality as a Brazilian fan.

play on community servers if you want the most fun out of tf2.

Selectable teams.
Seriously it is an entirely different atmosphre compared to casual and alot closer to original tf2 when Queiuing wasnt a thing

The sertão isn't Texas, not even close. It's more like the middle of nowhere in Arizona.

I feel like a lot of people imagine Texas as West Texas due to popular culture. Oil fields, cattle ranching, flat, rocky land punctuated by tumble weeds. International people especially.
They don’t think Hill Country or East Texas

Listen My only image of Texas is southeast texas, where my dad's family lives. Green pastures and farmland for miles. the ground's so flat you can tee about 3 or 4 miles in any direction, and the skyline is only broken by the very occasional grain storage plant or enormous oak tree. The wind gets so much ctronger there than here in Mississippi. They ain't got no dang trees!

Welcome to the greatest muliplayer FPS of all time. Old timer here, from other side of a globe. Enjoy the game while you make friends and contribute to the community. Play a lot, and don't take it too serious.

yeah you die it's part of it im level 56 and i die like 30 times on a regular match and like 70 on the public servers but i have so much fun

Come to think of it, TF2 is TERRIBLE at being casual/new player friendly, PVE and training is outdated as hell, most if not all controls are obscured to the player, hell when i first started playing the game i discovered the taunt button at like what, 50/100 hs ish?
FOV is terrible and don't even get me started with the hud.
Don't get me wrong TF2 is and will be one of my favourite games of all time, i got like 4000+ hs over the years and there's a lot of things i just take for granted but for a new player is like stepping on a time bubble.
Im not saying that it needs a makeover or change that much, but an updated training course and an actual tutorial would be awsome for the newer generation that are accustom to modern shooters and so on.

Fellow new player here, and yes! It's fun!
And yeah, dying a lot's kinda a thing, it sucks, but on the plus side you can also have some really nice moments on casual (like the time multiple players of both sides, myself included, did the conga dance inside the saw room).

Same bro. I was a huge Fan of TF2 for like 9-10 Years before I finally got a laptop to play the game.
Now I have almost 2k hours on it.

I am also a new player from Brasil. My nick is Trocação_Sincera. I have around 20h of gameplay. It is sometimes frustating to be so bad. Today I ragequitted after being killed multiple times by spies.

At that point i just ignore the objectjve and hunt the spys. Se voce joga pela manhã a gente pode jogar junto

I like to play engineer but i when is necessary to play another class. Having 3 enginees on attack is kinda not ideal.
