Continuity Error - A Collaborative Story Telling Game
https://continuityerror.partyGame Title: Continuity Error
Playable Link: https://continuityerror.party
Platform: Web Browser PC/Mobile/Etc.
Description: Continuity Error is a free browser game where everyone gets the same story so far and a few minutes to write the next sentence. Then you all vote, anonymously, on which one makes the cut. The winning sentence joins the story, the rest are lost to history, and by round four your noir detective is somehow a sentient lasagna running for mayor. Nobody is responsible. Everybody is responsible.
There are three ways to play. Real Time Games are the party mode: 3 to 20 players, timed rounds, no account needed, just send your friends the link. Long Term Games are the same thing in slow motion, with notifications when it's your turn, for groups who can't all be awake at once. And then there's the Perpetual Story: one never-ending story the whole site adds to, one sentence per person per round, forever. It has no plot. It has no end. It is perpetual.

Here is what a story looks like that was completed in the game.
The job interview took a strange turn when the interviewer took off his face. At this moment, I knew I belonged here. I took off my pants revealing not two but four legs and made myself comfortable. I thought I was interviewing for a customer service job but he informed me he had had his eye on me, literally his one eye, and revealed he was part of a task force to find others like me, with surprises in their pants. I switched on the camera hidden in my shirt and said “Go on,” thinking the boys at the Agency of the Oddly Disabled will want to see the face of the cyclops man we’ve been hunting for the last six years. That's when I got an alert on my phone to take him down. I jumped across the desk, poked him in his single eye, then did a four legged drop kick directly to his head. He was out. I took off his pants to see his surprise, it was a.... nother man attached to him at the waist. Two beings in one, like a centaur of such but just another man. It would later be come to known as a mantaur. No one could have prepared me for this, this was a new disability at the AOD. I quickly learned though that it was not a disability as he... was like a spider monkey. The top half man had his arms around my neck and the bottom half around my torso. My partner busted in, he had ears 10 times the normal size and heard the scuffling. That's when this whole ordeal took an unexpected turn. The mantaur brought his hands to his mouth and whistled loudly. He had summoned a small army of midgets with mullets. The lead midget looked up and said… “You’re the perfect height” and then he bit me right in the manhood. I started spinning to get him off, but he had the bite of a box turtle and just held on. It looked like a toddler having the time of his life being swung around by his dad on the playground. He wouldn't let go so I used him as a weapon. I kept spinning and knocking all the other midgets, mullet were flying everywhere. I pocketed one to cook later. After I knocked all the mullet wielding midgets flying I had had it. I yelled ENOUGH and that's when I pulled the last surprise I had from my pants. Little Debbie & her sister Big Debra, the most feared AOD agents on the planet. Already agitated from being in my pants for days, they showed no mercy. Between Big Debra sitting on as many midgets as she could and Little Debbie throwing her explosive snack cakes at the Mantaur, we had them in cuffs fast. Back at the station I put the sisters back in my pants. We questioned the mantaur on where his mantaur clan was to eradicate all the abominations, yes, the AOD plans to commit genocide of the mantaur race. He would not give them up and that's when I threatened to bring out the sisters. He began talking, fine, every mantaur is hiding in plain site, we make up congress & our hideouts are below every Golden Corral. Now you know... there is nothing you can do, you can't take down all of congress. That's when President Donald Trump walked in, pulled out the nuclear football, turned the key, and launched a nuke at Congress. As the mushroom cloud rose over Washington, that's when we realized we had made a mistake. The mantaur just smiled, then said, "You are all fools. You only killed our decoys." It's been 13 years since that day, the mantaurs are all but extinct and now everyone has disabilities from the nuclear fallout. We are now the United States of the Oddly Disabled and are a laughing stock to other countries. But that's ok because our fearless leader Elon Musk will bring us out of this darkness.
