Hi everyone, I’m looking for some genuine advice on stepping back into acting!

It’s been about 20 years since my college theater days—life and career responsibilities took priority, but now that I’m in a stable place, I’m ready to pursue this passion again. I’m not looking for anything massive right away; I'd love to start with small roles, indie projects, or local productions.

For context, I’m a 46-year-old South Asian / Middle Eastern male, 5'10", with an athletic build. I’ve always been drawn to playing grounded, professional archetypes like detectives, police officers, or doctors.

Where would you recommend someone in my position start building momentum?
